I’m enjoying the beauty of your Smoky Mountains right now for the first time. We really like this area a lot! I’d imagine we’ll be taking vacations here in the futures well.

Palmetto State amazingly got my complete AR pistol to my FFL in no time. I ordered Monday 12:01AM soon as paycheck hit my account so I didn’t miss out on limited availability. Shipping label created on Monday July 4. UPS picked it up Tuesday July 5, my new favorite gun shop in Memphis had it Thursday July 6. They called to tell me it had arrived before tracking even updated. Any Memphis area FFL seekers, use Classes Arms of Memphis! Avoid Guns & ā€œammoā€ at all costs for any services.

Hey guys. my name is Mike Eddins, I’m a brand new gun enthusiast ( just past 3-5 months).
I’ve learned tons, but getting friendly service when going to a local gun shop is quite the rarity… I’d prefer cordial reps who seem to be informative . I’d settle for grumpy reps who at least answer questions and pretend they don’t think I’m a total idiot. I’m so excited to get to the range tmrw with my 10.;ā€ PSA-15. Could anyone in my area point me to a club where they do sells/meets/swaps? If you don’t live on Nenphis area, the rest is probably irrelevant to you. Except all Palmetto Customers would likely be surprised to hear that my gun went from online checkout to my hand s in 5 days.

I hate to ā€œbad mouthā€ one Memphis LGS ,This will be bmńwhile singing the praises of another. When I visited Classis Arms in Cordova TN (Suburb of Memphis) it was a breath of fresh air.

We all know and understand why traditional gun stores aren’t huge fans of FFL transfers. Buyers going direct to online retailers. cut out the middle man essentially, except their transfer fee.

The local ā€œGuns & Ammoā€ srtore in Memphis is referred to as ā€œGuns & Assholesā€ around here . I learned this to no surprise today. I brought two COMPLETELY BROKE DOWN antique pistols. When I say broke down, I don’t mean just taken apart for cleaning. Every single tiny pin that would be invisible to the untrained eye had been disassembled. I requested a professional reassemble & clean both guns. Any broken/ missing prices I professed my willing to have them ordered and prepay if necessary.

The first pistol was a 1941 Military Colt 45 M1A1. This antique had substantial value after some quick Google searches. The smith reassembled it well. Despite him telling me it was soaking in a ā€œbathā€ of some chemical to clean it, i felt reassured. He the then tells me the .380 revolver isn’t worth his time or my money so I let it go. I asked if I could come that day after his lunch to pick up. He said ā€œsure come anytime between 2-5:30pm that day. I arrive to find a sign saying ā€œGunsmith Cllsedā€.

2 employees were helping clients, one was just browsing his phone, 30 minutes after I entered the shop I was rudely asked ā€œAnd just what is it you want?ā€ After explaining my talk witb the Gunsmith around noon, he let out a dramatic sigh an eye roll. Then told me ā€œyou’ll just have to wait a while buddyā€. I waited 30 more mins as several other clients came in, made purchases, & left. Finally the phone browser got up, unlocked gun smith door, then grabbed my box of parts with the assembled Colt on top…

As we walked to the front register he told me ā€œthe smith isn’t here so I must add a 3%?charge for using my machine instead of his. I didn’t argue and paid the $116. I successfully Picked up my Colt 45 on Tuesday and went home. Upon arrival, I could tell the Colt was still filthy. It took a full box of cleaning swatches from my brand new kit just to get them to quit coming back black and rusty! Here’s the real kicker: the smith proclaimed the revolver was a 380. Marked plain as day on its filth frame said ā€œMade in Germanyā€. ā€œ22LR.

So the store that handled my FFL and spent time answering my questions treated my like a client they wanted. Their name is Classic Arms of Memphis. The place I walked into prepared to spend at least several hundred with, didn’t really want my business. They assembled the Colt correctly, but doubt they ever tried cleaning it. Much less did they soak it in a cleansing bath. They didn’t look at the other gun I wanted assembled. There’s zero chance that I could read a 22 LR barrel stamp & they had no clue IF they ever handled it.

Hello from Middle Tennessee. I grew up in Ohio, married a Pennsylvania girl and we’ve been in the Mid-State for almost ten years now. Made great friends. Have a wonderful local gun shop in McMinnville. Awesome views in every direction I look.

Just wanted to wave that hand to all the good people down here in Tennessee.

Hello to all of the great people in the great state of Tennessee. I was born and raised in the town of Sneedville. I live in Virginia now. You just don’t realize just how beautiful the area is till you leave for a while. I might not live in the Volunteer state but I will always bleed Orange.

I know that this is old, but Memphis is not a real part of Tennessee to those of us from the rest of the state. Morristown was home, originally from Asheville. Memphis exists for one reason…to drive through to get somewhere else.

Best city in the state!

150 mile drive I’m in Chattanooga. Gotta stop in South Pittsburgh on my way to check out Hammers and Lodge cast works first. Go to my B&B and check in. Do both battlefields ( again), kickback at the choo-choo then walk the Tennessee River! Yuuup love Nooga!

My dad lived there for several years. Biggest pain for me was to get through Atlanta traffic to hit Chattanooga traffic.
