Help me decide…

So I’m finally legal to buy an AK rifle………relax, I moved out of Maryland :yum: I reeeeeaaalllyy want a gf5 in treebark furniture!! However, my house I just bought I’m doing a pretty big renovation on by myself, and paying for materials as I go. A blem gf3 has been in my cart for a few weeks now, just to get a rifle asap without hurting the wallet as much :joy: but I keep not pulling the trigger. So hold off a little longer for the gf5? Get the gf3 now? Or get the gf3 now and the gf5 later? :innocent: Dammed Scottish dna………it’s hard shaking off that bred cheapness :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Are you really going to shoot it enough to notice the difference in barrel? Triggers and furniture can be changed.

I’ve been asking myself that question. We do shoot a lot already, and bought this place for the already setup range in the back. But with so many rifles and pistols on hand as it is , I doubt I’d wear any of them out………or at least any time soon. The gf3 seems like a great option for now…….

edit: you can put wooden furniture on it for like $150 more later

You will be glad you grabbed the GF3. The FN barrels are nice, but the PSA-branded barrels do the job just fine.

Uh oh. My order is in “review”………as a former Marylander that reads scary

And just spent some time with the 104 and a 9mm ar I built from a hodgepodge of Anderson and psa parts. Love the 104!!!so excited to get the rifle!!!

My 9mm AR is the 16” psa barrel and the gen4 bcg. It was a stripped Anderson upper we won in a little raffle at a lgs, and decided to give the build a try. It’s been a d@mn great trainer at our pistol club nearby, which allows PCC’s up to 44mag, and cheap to join. It gave us the opportunity to do a lot of AR practice, since the ammo is cheaper and a steady place to shoot in MD can be hard to come by at times. Before we bought the VA house with our backyard range, we were going 1-3 times a week. It’s had over 3 cases run through it now, and the only malfunctions I can think of is a few times the bcg didn’t pick up the next round. But I can probably count on 1 hand, how many times it happened. Using the endomag conversion.

Get the gf3 now. In a bit get the gf5. Then of course you’ll need to complete the set with a gf4, just because. More and more!

Payment processed this a.m. I know FFL items can take up to around 2 weeks to ship, so now the waiting period……….

For the overwhelming majority of shooters, the pro’s and con’s of CL v. Nitride is a waste of time. And the pro’s and con’s are debatable.

Very true. However I’ll likely still end up with a gf5 in a year or so ……….if for nothing else but bragging rights/mid-life crisis/finished raising kids

My next one will be the -103K. Just looks mean.

Buy once Cry once. Although the GF3 is fine I would go ahead and go with the GF5 because you will always think to yourself. I could have just gotten the GF5. You could always save yourself some money and get the GF5 builders kit and do it exactly how you want.
