It’s that time of the year get prepped
Bring on the rain. We need it.
And now it’s expected to be a major hurricane at land fall! Poor folks in Florida!
Where I’m at in SC I’m looking at a rainy day
We’ve been lucky here in Hilton Head Island I think it’s been 7 years since Matthew hit.
Hmm, I should probably go plant that deer plot now that rain is in the forecast.
2016 was when Matthew hit. It knocked us out of power for a week in cottageville
3 to 5 inch’s
I’d say chop chop!
Also, I’m on my way to help so I too can use the property hahha
The Wife and I were Motorcycle camping in a Tent in Georgia, when Isadore came through in ‘02. THAT Was a Wet Vacation.
It saturated the mountains so bad, there were landslides all over the area - I think a half dozen people were killed the night the eye passed through.
Next day, The Wife crashed her VTR: lowsiding in the garbage the storm left all over the roads. She was OK until the sliding moto fetched-up against a 3’ diameter boulder in the ditch, then she struck the bike - and it cartwheeled her through the air.
Displacement fracture of her left Humeral Head - it just sort of “blew it open” - some mild rash, various hematoma, etc. Nothing they could do for her but sling her arm, and hope it didn’t go septic.
It took about 3-4 weeks for it to heal enough for physical therapy - probably another 4-5 years to regain 80% function. She’ll never have full range of motion, of course.
Helmet, Armoured Jacket, Armoured Gloves, Armoured pants, etc. Immovable Objects kinda suck.
They sho’ do. Flipped an '83 KZ750 LTD over a bank in a storm… broke the key off when it hit my sternum as the bike landed on me.
Latest update extends the hurricane warning all the way to Edisto. Keep safe guys.
