Yeah, that first one is me. My AC has been broken since the middle of June, and I can’t afford to do anything about it. Stinks to be me, I guess.
Welcome to The Poors. I open windows and turn on fans when the shadows get long, and it cools down outside. Then The Wife closes up after I’ve gotten off to work, to keep the house cooler.
As I said earlier, it stinks to be me. It is already 85 degrees in the house as I type this, I’m getting ready to shut the doors and go visit a friend who still lives in the 21st Century with AC and everything. WOOHOO!
while you may not have enough cheddar to fix the AC, back years ago the wife and i were in the same situation. so we bought a 100 dollar monster window unit.. and the dang thing almost cooled the whole house down enough to be fine. it is better than nothing, and the house was only 1300 sq ft. so take it for what its worth. just hope you’re able to find coolness throughout this summer.
Yeah, I’ve been watching FB Marketplace for something like one of those portable units. If this were January people would almost be giving them away. Since it’s Summer they have the bargaining chip. Thanks for the thoughts, it may not be cooling me off, however it’s nice to know I’m not alone in my comiserating.
Last year our travel trailer was so hot we bought a portable to supplement our rooftop AC.
We bought some off brand on sale and it works pretty good but would struggle by itself but something is better than nothing.
