Oh but he did…
WHY is it Always the C6’s that go through the fence?
Misremembered - it was a C7 actually went through. The two C6’s ALMOST went through the fence on the other side - they merely fetched-up against the board fence, very muddy but minimally scraped…
(I don’t have pics of those - I was Safety Steward for this event, that’s why I have pictures of this incident)
Didn’t switch to the wet tires?
Supercharge Z06 too much for the skillz.
Well could be the 7.0 liter I suppose.
Pavement itself was almost Dry - Once Off, however - you were going for a Ride. Big Horsepower, he was Charging the Finish Lights (decidedly a NoNo!), then lost it into the grass trying to reel it back in before the end of the Stop Box. [in these pictures] All the cones had been gathered up, this was at the end of the Event.
He only narrowly-missed the previous car through the lights - they were actually idling-down the return road, on that curve. He was sideways when he passed them, then backwards up the rise and through the fence.
Nope. That’s where he left the pavement.
Edit:
Wait - you mean the road? Yes, that was what we were using to drive back to the Paddock. On the left, on that curve was another ’Vette who had just completed their run.
Ok. I was thinking “That doesn’t look mostly dry to me.” ![]()
It was intermittent storms before and after. That puddle was not anywhere near that size when he went through. This is a couple hours later.
The grass WAS saturated and splooshy, you can see how he hydroplaned and didn’t actually dig-in until he crossed the road.
