Sometimes there is only one way to do things!
Ben Franklin told us to work, to keep our Democratic Republic.
We haven’t.
As I see it, to restore our Republic, we need a three-prong approach:
1 - Get politically active. Local and state is far more important (and overlooked) than federal. Today, we see some states passing “2A Sanctuary” bills - that’s a start. We need to elect State representatives who will stand up to federal over reach - and demand that the federal government stay within the boundaries of the agreed upon contract (the Constitution).
2 - Education. WE (proclaimed 2A supporters) need to understand the purpose of the 2A and teach it to everyone we know. We must work against any types of registrations of weapons or owners. Lack of understanding is why President Trump thought he was siding with the pro-2A crowd, who was loudly and wrongly procaiming “Don’t ban guns. It’s a mental problem - too many obvious signs were missed.” - and so he said we should deal with those “signs” and take guns away from someone who MIGHT want to commit a crime (Red Flag laws). All of the “gun crime” problem lies in making places where victims have been disarmed.
3 - (the step all people on this site are doing) - Be prepared IF all else fails. Procure and teach people the proper use of weapons. WE need to be able to arm those who don’t understand now, but will want to help IF that day comes in our lifetimes.
My prayer is that steps 1 and 2 always be enough. Those are the steps though, that we have allowed the enemy of freedom to attack. Those are the steps WE need to actively address.
