I’d rather have someone that doesn’t flee to Mexico when his country/state is in shambles. Yeah he came back after a lot of backlash, but we need a president who sees bad decisions before they make them. If he’s “Tough as Texas” he would’ve stayed in Texas like every other Texan and used his pull as a senator to help get the power grid up and running.

I’m not calling for violence but I wouldn’t shed a tear if someone nuked DC at the next state of the union address. Then we could start all over. However, I would settle for term limits to congress. i don’t think the founding fathers ever expected someone to spend decades as a congress person and come out richer then when they went in, pass laws that they are exempt from and give themselves a raise whenever they feel like it.

What gets me is that a lot of people think their congressperson will look out for their best interests. Senators make $174k a year, most get multiple “donations” from corporations anywhere from 2-10x their yearly salary. Do you really think their focus is on the small percentage of income they get for representing the people or the corporations making them millions? It’s like needing surgery but the surgeon makes more money selling organs.
