What do you run for long range guns. It doesn’t have to be a 1000 yard gun but what do you use for anything 100+
I run a 30-06 Weatherby Vanguard
Furthest on paper is 300
But taken game at closer to 400

I use a Ruger Ranch 16" barrel 7.62x39 on groundhog & deer out to 400+ yards, also 25-06 26" , 5.56 in the AR platform 20" out to 600 yards. For larger game, 25-06, 25 WSSM, 270 WSM & 308. All in a variety of single shot, bolt action & semi auto.
I had a 25-06 regret getting rid of it. A very flat shooting gun.
It’s a beautiful cartridge! I’ve got 3 rifles chambered in it. An Encore single shot with a Match Grade Machine 26" barrel, Remington 700BDL with a heavy 26" Hellical fluted barrel (Shaw) & another Remington 700 with a 26" medium contour Douglas barrel.
That’s beautiful
Wow… I’m not gonna like I’m jealous
Just two, a SPR (mk12 clone) with 18" Ranier Arms match barrel in .223 Wylde, and a 1987 vintage Remington 700 RSBDL in .280 Rem.
Having anyluck with ammo for that .280?
I reload all of my ammo. Hornady 139gr. btsp ahead of 57 gr. Of IMR 4350. Since these are hunting loads only I usually keep only 400 or so.
I got a die for em and my uncle need some but my powder is dwindling
Does anyone even make ammo for it anymore. I haven’t seen much if at all the last few years
Norma and Hornady do. Hornady web site lists our friends at PSA in Greenville as being a dealer. I have no idea if they have any in stock.
Unfortunately large rifle calibers do use a bunch of powder. My load will only get you 122 rounds per pound.
Yea i get roughly that maybe less out of my 30-06
I run 60 gr of reloader 19
Was just looking on Midway at 7mm bullets. Not many available and .50 cents apiece and higher. Hornady interbonds $60 for a box of 100. Crazy.
Thats nuts
