Hello everyone, this is probably going to sound like a broken record, but I’ve gathered all the correct pieces to build an M16A1 clone, but I still haven’t come across a stripped upper. I love being able to assemble my ARs and I, like many others would like to have something similar to what I was issued in basic training…it certainly would bring back a lot of memories. I’ve come to conclusion that retro builds are very popular which would explain the shortage of upper receivers.
I’ve got my eyes
out for a slick-side Upper, me own slef.
A 601 Clone is what I have in mind.
There should be some H&R slickside uppers dropping over the next couple of weeks, along with A1, A2, and Commando lowers as well as some small parts - all in the grey anodized color. They will likely sell out in minutes, so you need to check the PSA website frequently to get the goods. There’s a couple of ARFCOM threads on this that may be worth looking up as well as Reddit r/retroar.
You can also look on the Luth-AR website and subscribe to the back in stock notifications; you’ll get first shot at slickside and C7 uppers over the general public. Just remember they are in black, not grey.
I mean, allegedly. I ain’t one to gossip, so you ain’t heard it from me.
Edit - oh, and welcome!
Yessir, I saw that a slickside had just sold on Gunbroker for $429 I think…but I will hold off until these H&R’s or other manufacturers start selling again, with or without the M4 feedramps.[quote=“evanjackson376, post:1, topic:21604, full:true”]
