MBUS sights metal or plastic?

Are the MBUS sights on the current (August 2024) PSA AR-15 rifle kits metal or plastic?
Either way, have those of you who have them had a good experience with them with regard to accuracy and durability?
I’m wondering if I should order a rifle kit with the sights included, or if I’m better off buying sights elsewhere.
Thanks for thoughtful answers.

As far as I know, the MBUS flip up sights are polymer. The MBUS pro series is metal. I would expect the polymer ones come with the kit.

Haven’t had an issue with the polymer ones.

magpul makes both metal and polymer mbus sights.

the standard mbus sights, were gen2, and just a few months ago they released a re-design called gen3, the gen 3 are slimmer than the gen 2, and overall have better asthetics. the metal ones, are called the mbus Pro line. i’ve not seen any psa kit sold with those ever, however the standard mbus g2’s did come with many of the psa guns. I would bet that since the gen 3 are so new, any upper / rifle you get that has mbus with it, will be a gen 2 polymer buis.

I’ve used Magpul flip up sights gen 2, and 3 now, and pro, on my rifles. it is my go to for a backup flip up sight. you can buy those, and use those without worry. they are solid items, and are not too terribly expensive either. Buy with confidencee with anything magpul Mbuis related. in my book.

hope that helps.

How well have the polymer sights held zero for you?

Think that covers it.

What sights are on your AR?

G2 Polymer they’ve been GTG.

I wish PSA would adopt a menu driven system for the rifle kits, so you could check the boxes, and have just what you want.
MOE :white_check_mark:
ODG :white_check_mark:
Mid-length :white_check_mark:
EPT :white_check_mark:
MBUS Pro :white_check_mark:
Stainless barrel :white_check_mark:
Then you could just have it the way you want it, right there in your kit.

I acknowledge that it would require a change of build procedures for their Upper assembly line, but they definitely have the computer power to drive both the assembly and ordering interfaces.

With the volume PSA does that is not really possible. PSA has multiple sister companies that make parts and the assembly lines build using what is available at the time.

we’ve always wanted something lik ethat, but as Guitar Guy says, the sheer volume that PSA does makes this pretty much impossible to be done on their system. I t hink that is partially why they did the sabre stuff, with the full on high end parts most people want anyways. i could be wrong abou tthat but that is a personal thought on it.
