Hello,
I’m trying to decide between these two kits. I realize the one has the mbus sights and different furniture, and a nitride BCG, but is that worth 80 dollars? I’m hoping to buy two, if the CFO agrees, so it’s actually going to be 160 dollars difference…
While I like me some magpul furniture as much as the next person, I would get the cheaper kit just for that handguard. I much prefer the slim design, but then I wouldn’t use that rail space, anyway and I’m likely to replace furniture with something goofy and obscure regardless of what it ships with. At least until ALG starts keeping their rails in stock regularly again.
Thanks!
Happy to contribute. You could always get one of each. That way no matter what the right choice was, you’re guaranteed to be wrong!
There’s no wrong answer here, but if you’re planning to have back-up sights, then the magpul set is a deal, since a set of MBUS sights will set you back more than $80. The magpul furniture and the EPT trigger are a bonus at that point (and both nice upgrades in my mind).
The magpul is the better deal.
I agree that the MBUS are a pretty nice incentive to get that kit, unless you already have a set of BUIS and need to save money.
Another vote for #2. Those sights alone are worth the price difference. Looks like it comes with an enhanced polished trigger too instead of mil-spec. If you’re going to go with a drop in trigger and run not red dot optics #1 might be worth the savings, but if you are going to run a red dot (or just the iron sights) and don’t necessarily immediately want or need an aftermarket trigger #2 looks like a much better deal.
Thanks All,
I’m going to shoot for number 2
Ok, I’m starting to feel like an eye doctor. I chose number 2 but then found number 3
Number 2:

Number 3

Other than number 3 is normally 60 dollars more, they look like the exact same thing?
Thanks
Looks like #3 has gray furniture. I can’t see any other difference.
You’re right I got them mixed up. Going line by line on the specs, the description, and the picture I can’t find another difference. I guess it just depends on your preference at that point. I have both and the difference in color is very minor (like in the pictures). The gray gives it a nice contrast without being flashy at all.
Kind of a moot point with me because just about everything I build gets the Krylon treatment anyways.
One time I spent most of the day looking for a difference on something very similar. Turns out it was the hand guard. Just like the difference between #2 and #3, one of them has picatinny all the way to the front sight, the other has lightened the hand guard by removing the middle section of picatinny. That’s the only thing I can see that’s different!
Well, you get the eagle eye award!
Number 2 for the win.
Just throwing this at you since you’re in this price range… I have been thinking this is the best value on PSA for a few weeks.

So for 70 bucks extra you’re getting an NiB bolt and carrier, NiB mil spec trigger, and all the magpul furniture. You could even cheapen this up if you’re partial to classic furniture.
No sights on this setup, but did you really want the magpul mbus anyway?
Enjoy,

I got the full rail version with magpul furniture, its dope. Ept trigger is def a step up from that mil spec and worth it
They have different rails. One has picatinny across the entire length of the top while the other only has it at the front and rear of the rail. Hope this helps!
I got two of my #2 choice, 6 pmags, and 8 boxes of Winchester ammo
I actually did want the magpul mbus
They might not be “backup” sites for me, at least for a while.
However, that might be my next build. Thanks!
