What lower receiver do you recommend for this upper kit?
Jarod B on Apr 27, 2018

I was just wondering, with this kit, is it everything i need to put it together, or do i need anything else, this is my first one, an dont want to get it wrong?
mustang8750 on Jul 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Short answer: includes everything EXCEPT a lower reciever.

hey buddy, I was in your shoes just a few years ago, the first build can be a little daunting. This is a great build, I’ve used it a few times. Most online builds (including this one) will need you to still purchased a Striped Lower Reciever to become operational. I recommend Anderson Arms Lowers as they are reliable and some of the cheapest on the market today. The lower parts kit included in this built kit will then go in your lower reciever.
Im a little confused on what else is needed to complete this rifle im very new to the gun world but i think its the trigger what kind do i need please help?
Wilfer C on Dec 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You only need a stripped lower receiver, some specialized tools make putting it together easier, but they are not necessary. Everything else to make it functional is provided.
Is this a complete build or just the upper?
Nick M on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It is a complete build kit minus the lower receiver. The upper will come assembled.
It it hbar or does it have a pencil barrel?
Wyatt B on Jul 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I'm not into the tech stuff but it's a heavy barrel in front of the gas block and thinner behind.
What charging handle is in this upper?
Ryan H on Jul 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Standard military style charging handle, non-ambi. I am lefty and don't have a problem, just takes some time to get used too.
Can this be shipped to California?

BEST ANSWER: Yes, you will just need to replace the parts that are not allowed on a featureless rifle if you wish to build one

shawn h on May 12, 2018

William H on Dec 26, 2018

I’m brand new to building. That being said, if I were to get this upper, and a stripped lower, would I still need to purchase a BCG? Anything else? Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated!!
Allan H on Oct 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No the BIG is included. All you need is a castle wrench to attach the buffer tube, roll pin punches, pin punches, and something non meeting to support the lower when you install the trigger guard pins. A vice and vice blocks are really helpful.
what modifications need to be done to the PSA kit to incorporate the AA piston system?
ben c on Sep 29, 2018

Is it possible to get a lefty version of this?
Jay Wells on Apr 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I'm a lefty and used M16s in the infantry. Once you use them a bit it seems like they are more suited to lefties than righties if you change to an ambi safety! Bolt release with trigger finger, mag release with thumb of non firing hand when changing mags. Can't use a left handed AR now. Feels backwards!
Is the muzzle on the barrel permanently?

Highly impressed.
Bought this to pair up with an Aero Precision lower. Arrived at my house before the next weekend.
Out of the box, all parts were well organized in ziploc bags. I was missing a part - the buffer catch and spring. No biggie, I chose to spend $6 and upgrade to a Ranier titanium catch. I just ran it without one until it arrived. Regardless, PSA shipped me a new one in about 2 weeks. Not ideal but no biggie. Everything was packed well with no shipping damage. Put together with no issues in about 2 hours (first build). So far I’ve ran 90 rounds of 0.223 55gr Aguila with zero issues, hiccups, etc.
The build quality is really nice for what you pay. I was expecting a decent rifle for a low price, but I got a nice rifle for a low price. Magpul furniture is great, really like the stippling of the grip. I didn’t expect much out of the MBUS sights but they’re actually pretty decent and will work fine for backup sights.

What I like:
EPT trigger is nice. Good finish. Pull is even with little stacking and reset is good. A little heavy but not bad out of the box.
Quality construction
Quality fit
Above average finish
Great price!
Operates flawlessly (so far)
Fast shipping

What I don’t like:
Buffer tube is kind of cheap. It fits the stock tightly but after loosening and re-tightening castle nut to install buffer catch, the threads started to strip in the groove that engages the lock plate. Not a huge deal, I was able to hold it straight while torqueing the nut. If I need to take it back off I’ll just swap in an upgraded tube.
Also charging handle is cheap. Will do the job until you figure out which one you want to swap in.
These 2 parts are the only ones I’ve seen so far that strike me as sub-par. Since they’re both cheap and easy to replace, I still gave this kit 5 stars. The things that matter are solid - the freedom barrel isn’t anything special (non CHF, non chrome, etc) but it has a good finish and is accurate to 2 MOA (so far, using a bench at 50 yards). The BCG and upper receiver are nice.
All in all, I’m happy with this and with PSA. Yes, they could respond faster. Yes, they shouldn’t have left out a part. But they sent me a nice rifle in less than a week for a great price, and for that I’ll be coming back to PSA.

Good deal for the money.
Nice rifle for the money, my only complaints are the bolt catch is so loose that sometimes the bolt will not lock back on the last round and the stock rattles like a 1970s farm truck. But overall for $400 it is a excellent deal.

Course proven, condition tested, steel eating animal!
This rifle is nothing short of phenomenal. I paired this kit with an 80% Blem, and ran it hard all 2018 with one objective... to see if PSAs "Budget" rifles could hang with the much more expensive brands.
Boyyyyy did it! I put this rifle through 10 full day training courses last year, on top of 1-2 range days a month. I ran it in rain, mud, 120 degree desert heat. It ate just under 6500 steeel cased rounds and ran flawlessly. The only modification I made to it was swapping out the BCG for a PSA Nib BCG.
It has become my primary rifle, and has proven beyond doubt that it's a rifle that can be depended on. Despite what any of the label snobs or nay sayers think, this is far from just a "plinker".
I personally have built several PSA builds, and they all have performed amazingly. I see no need to ever buy anything else. For the price of one "Name Brand" rig, I've been able to arm my entire family and am grateful to PSA for it.

Recommend for both First time Shooters and Builders
This was the First AR Build I Ordered and am Pleased to say it is A Beauty.

500 Rounds Through it Since September 2018 with Only handful of issues but issues being related to ammo, Tested with a buddy's AR and it was indeed the Ammo.

I have Ordered a 2nd Build due to how happy i was with this purchase and am Glad to say i will highly likely be returning for more.

PSA mid length freedom kit -
Very nice kit - buffer tube fit MOE stock as good as any I’ve used. Barrel a little shiny for my taste - but overall, this made a nice weapon.

I’ve already recommended this product and PSA uppers/lowers in general multiple times.
First AR build I’ve done. Buddy recommended I check out PSA. The price and overall quality of the product is phenomenal. Paired with a PSA lower and it’s a head turner that won’t break the bank. Functions smooth and went together easily.

Palmetto Arms has everything you need at great prices. The only complaint I have is not ordering before they are out of stock. Keep it all American.
I have purchased three .556 AR uppers. Two 10.5 pistol uppers and one 16in upper. They were all they said they would be and more . Very easy to assemble and quality parts.
My favorite.
First rifle.
Can't get enough.
First Born. First one built. Found out how easy . Kept going.
