Barrel: 4150V Chrome Moly steel. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1:7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a carbine-length gas system. Barrel is is finished off with a standard handguard, F-Marked gas sight base, and A2 flash hider.

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is machined to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized, features a forged upper receiver. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer.

Bolt: Full-auto profile bolt carrier group. Milspec Carpenter No. 158® steel bolt. Gas Key Hardened to USGI Specifications, Fastened with Grade 8 screws, and Staked Per Mil-Spec. 8620 steel M-16 profile carrier is chrome lined and phosphate coated.

Lower Build Kit: Includes Classic M4-Style Stock, A2 Pistol grip, Classic Lower Parts Kit and Mil-Spec diameter 6-position buffer tube assembly. Everything you need to finish your stripped lower.

BEST ANSWER: The Vanadium. You don't need to worry if it is or isn't since it makes no difference in how long the barrel lasts or anything else. Don't let a marketing zombies blow smoke up your rear. The vanadium is added to cut costs in the manufacturing end of things not the qualities of the end product properties. Get a chrome lined or Nitrided barrel, which this is, and you will be OK
Does this kit have to be shipped to an FFL since it has a stripped lower?

BEST ANSWER: It does not need to be shipped to an FFL. It includes every piece to assemble the rifle besides a stripped lower (the only item that ever requires an FFL). I suggest buying one of those locally to avoid fees.
Is this a complete M4 rifle when completing the lower?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it is. It’s a very nice rifle. Brownells has a very nice detailed article on how to assemble it. You might want to order an extra set of detents and springs. They can get away very quickly. The first one I assembled took a day. I had to make three trips to get extra detents and springs. The second one I assembled took two hours. Enjoy.

Can a low profile gas block work on this kit,and if so do u have to change fore gaurd ?

BEST ANSWER: You can install a low-profile block and keep the existing furniture. There is no real good reason to do so. Seeing the front sight in your optic really is not a problem.
If I want to replace handguard with picatinny mloc type, what other parts would be needed? Can I use existing gas block?

BEST ANSWER: NO. Mid-length furniture needs a mid-length gas system. This takes CARBINE furniture.

BEST ANSWER: Any of the palmetto state armory lowers they are all real good and the have a wide assortment so you can customize your fife to your personality.

BEST ANSWER: YES. Absolutely. Your stripped (“poverty pony”) lower + this kit + about an hour = a complete AR style Modern Sporting Rifle (MSR)

PS: no offense about the Anderson lowers - I have several and just ordered a few more on sale!

BEST ANSWER: My kit included everything but the lower receiver, and a rear sight. The only other things you need are a good set of assembly tools and a little time. I couldn't find a spot on the 'blemished' product. Excellent value and final results exceeded my expectations. The rifle shoots really well. I've had zero malfunctions or issues post assembly. PSA has crazy fast shipping as well. I couldn't give a higher rating for this package.

BEST ANSWER: Yes they do. Of course you'll need to disassemble the BCG, clean it and the rest of the upper like you would following a range session. The lower build was a piece of cake. I built two of these and they run flawlessly.

BEST ANSWER: don't forget you are gonna need a lower receiver also. i have put plenty of these together and they work like a champ.accuracy is pretty decent also. remember, this IS NOT a 1000.00 kit. you get what you pay for but in this case it works. good luck
is this a free floating handguard?

BEST ANSWER: No it is not. It is held on with a traditional delta ring. To install a free float handgaurd it will be necessary to remove the A2 front sight post/ gas block.
What else do I need to get to take this one to the range ? It will be a gift to my son who is thinking of joining the military next summer and I don’t want to forget some thing.

BEST ANSWER: All you will need is a stripped lower receiver and a rear sight. Just make sure that the lower you purchase is a Milspec receiver. If so, all the parts in this kit will fit perfectly. I have put a couple thousand rounds through mine since I built it and it has functioned perfectly. I am also assuming you have the appropriate basic tools for assembly.

Compatible lower. Can anyone recommend a good stripped lower for this kit? and specifically if an Anderson stripped lower would match up? Also....any recommends on the rear site please as it appears to have the front. Thank you.

BEST ANSWER: Anderson lower works great. Put mine together with one and have 500+ rounds through it with no issues so far. As for a rear sight I bought the polymer flip up rear sight and it worked just fine. I recently found a metal rear sight that attaches to the rail and has windage and elevation adjustments... Hope this helped!

BEST ANSWER: It has a picatinny rail so yes you can. The front site is fixed and could be in the way though. It can actually be removed if you have some know how and replaced with a gas block and floating handrail.

BEST ANSWER: I have been successful in marrying the upper to both cast and billet lowers. The best match is with one of the PSA lowers.

Can’t beat this deal.

High Quality, High Value Kit
Ordered this kit as my first AR, kit arrived in 3 days, I noticed no blemishes on it whatsoever, my neighbor who is a gunsmith assembled the lower unit in about an hour, oiled it, aligned the sites and it works flawlessly.
