Barrel: 4150V Chrome Moly steel. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1:7 twist, M4 barrel extension, and a carbine-length gas system. Barrel is is finished off with a standard handguard, F-Marked gas sight base, and A2 flash hider.

Upper: Forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper is machined to MIL-SPECS and hard coat anodized, features a forged upper receiver. These uppers are made for us right here in the USA by a mil-spec manufacturer.

Bolt: Full-auto profile bolt carrier group. Milspec Carpenter No. 158® steel bolt. Gas Key Hardened to USGI Specifications, Fastened with Grade 8 screws, and Staked Per Mil-Spec. 8620 steel M-16 profile carrier is chrome lined and phosphate coated.

Lower Build Kit: Includes Classic M4-Style Stock, A2 Pistol grip, Classic Lower Parts Kit and Mil-Spec diameter 6-position buffer tube assembly. Everything you need to finish your stripped lower.

What is the difference between chrome moly steel and chrome moly vanadium?

BEST ANSWER: 4140 chrome molybdenum alloy steel, with the addition of vanadium alloying, which refines and improves the crystalline structure of the alloy. In other-words, a finer grain structure that increases tensile and yield strength, and mechanically the finer grain pattern provides higher burst strength and resistance to stress failure from repeated impact, along with increased hardenability and temper/stress relief heat treating.
Vanadium addition in a tool steel or high carbon alloy is an excellent alloying improvement agent all around in every alloy it is used in.
Does this kit have to be shipped to an FFL since it has a stripped lower?

BEST ANSWER: It does not need to be shipped to an FFL. It includes every piece to assemble the rifle besides a stripped lower (the only item that ever requires an FFL). I suggest buying one of those locally to avoid fees.
Is this a complete M4 rifle when completing the lower?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it is. It’s a very nice rifle. Brownells has a very nice detailed article on how to assemble it. You might want to order an extra set of detents and springs. They can get away very quickly. The first one I assembled took a day. I had to make three trips to get extra detents and springs. The second one I assembled took two hours. Enjoy.

Can a low profile gas block work on this kit,and if so do u have to change fore gaurd ?

BEST ANSWER: You can install a low-profile block and keep the existing furniture. There is no real good reason to do so. Seeing the front sight in your optic really is not a problem.
If I want to replace handguard with picatinny mloc type, what other parts would be needed? Can I use existing gas block?

BEST ANSWER: Any mil spec lower will do just fine. Personally I use Anderson lowers on my builds due to price and availability.

BEST ANSWER: NO. Mid-length furniture needs a mid-length gas system. This takes CARBINE furniture.

BEST ANSWER: You could get a Stag Arms left handed upper assembly and transfer all of your parts to that, but no this doesn't get offered in a left handed model.
BCA has left handed products you might want to look at.
How long does it take to build and how hard is it to assemble? Also does it come with instructions? Thanks

Let's say a guy had an Anderson stripped lower for an AR will that work with this M4 kit?

BEST ANSWER: YES. Absolutely. Your stripped (“poverty pony”) lower + this kit + about an hour = a complete AR style Modern Sporting Rifle (MSR)

PS: no offense about the Anderson lowers - I have several and just ordered a few more on sale!

BEST ANSWER: My kit included everything but the lower receiver, and a rear sight. The only other things you need are a good set of assembly tools and a little time. I couldn't find a spot on the 'blemished' product. Excellent value and final results exceeded my expectations. The rifle shoots really well. I've had zero malfunctions or issues post assembly. PSA has crazy fast shipping as well. I couldn't give a higher rating for this package.
I can buy this kit and then but a striped lower to complete the rifle is that correct and which lower should I get?

BEST ANSWER: REALLY? There is no lower with this kit just the parts needed to make YOUR stripped lower function. If you bought that lower stripped. It t probably has a serial #. Exception would be If you bought an 80 % or a raw forging
Just double tapping, the lower receiver is not included but will any stripped lower work?

Correct, there is no lower receiver included. We recommend any of our mil-spec PA-15 lowers.

BEST ANSWER: It comes with the standard USGI trigger guard. It is in the picture the little flat piece of metal just below the BCG and to the left of the buffer group.

BEST ANSWER: Yes they do. Of course you'll need to disassemble the BCG, clean it and the rest of the upper like you would following a range session. The lower build was a piece of cake. I built two of these and they run flawlessly.

BEST ANSWER: They absolutely will work together. You will need to get an armorers tool though to tighten the castle nut or at least take it to your local gunsmith to have him tighten it for you. These can be purchased for about 20.00 if you look around some You will still need optics for the upper so you will need a pop up Magpul rear sight (or some other form of back up irons) at the very least. PSA has some good deals on those as well. Good luck with your build!

BEST ANSWER: don't forget you are gonna need a lower receiver also. i have put plenty of these together and they work like a champ.accuracy is pretty decent also. remember, this IS NOT a 1000.00 kit. you get what you pay for but in this case it works. good luck
is this a free floating handguard?

BEST ANSWER: No it is not. It is held on with a traditional delta ring. To install a free float handgaurd it will be necessary to remove the A2 front sight post/ gas block.
What else do I need to get to take this one to the range ? It will be a gift to my son who is thinking of joining the military next summer and I don’t want to forget some thing.

BEST ANSWER: All you will need is a stripped lower receiver and a rear sight. Just make sure that the lower you purchase is a Milspec receiver. If so, all the parts in this kit will fit perfectly. I have put a couple thousand rounds through mine since I built it and it has functioned perfectly. I am also assuming you have the appropriate basic tools for assembly.

I have completed and tested this product. I found no objectionable blemishes to the appearance. The bore scope did reveal the bore to look like crap. However, after shooting and cleaning out much of the black nitride the appearance improved. It still has pits in the metal and strange worm-like tool marks on the lands. It shoots much better than I expected. It holds a constant group of two inches or better. The trigger was 6.5 pounds and very gritty. Some work with a stone removed the grits and a replacement set of springs reduced the pull to about 4.5 to 4 pounds. It still has a good deal of creep.

You can't expect much better for the money.

I could not find any cosmetic blend. I did find that the upper hades one play in the lower it’s installed on and also on another AR that I have. Talking to others about it and it was mentioned to expect some play

Great kit for a first time build or a cheap plinker.
Solid construction and reliable performance, the lower build kit was well fitted and trigger assembly breaks cleanly. I've put about 1000 rounds through the upper with no issues yet.

I highly recommend this gun and as I said I will purchase another one! Great gun to own
For starters I haven’t located any blemishes on this gun. I took it out the other day and felt great not heavy at all had nice grouping within 3 inches. I believe that had a lot to do with the 30mph winds. I plan on purchasing another one as soon as I can.

I built this kit with a previously owned lower, matched up perfectly. I would highly recommend this kit for anyone want to build a gun for less than $500. I did buy a USGI rear sight, as one is not provided, which cost me about $100
