Micro Dagger - Tech Talk

Again, that’s an assumption and there’s nothing objective about it. You don’t know PSA’s rail specs, none of us do, but we do know that there is no guarantee of a Glock slide being compatible on a Micro frame, so it is absolutely unfair to label the PSA part as “worse” when the only issue at hand here is an expectation that it would be fully compatible with an entirely different brand’s designs. I don’t see anything that is a shame.

Would you have the same reaction to someone saying Glock’s machine tolerances are not up to par because a PSA slide assembly did not work 100% with a Glock frame? Works both ways, doesn’t it?

If PSA slide uses the same specs as a Glock slide, it is worse because of the relationship between the trigger pack, striker, trigger pack, trigger bar, safety plunger. There are objective measurement that are important for the relationship between those parts.

If the PSA slide rails are slightly lower on the slide, then the issues stated above are a non factor because it fixes the spacing.

The PSA frame is objectively worse to use a Glock upper assembly on than a Glock frame. The shame is that the PSA frame is, imo, nicer than the slimline Glock frames. And if they used the same frame rails height, many people would buy the PSA frame to replace their 43,43x,48 frames. I know of 15 sales they would have if that was the case, but it isn’t, and that’s a shame.

There is nothing wrong with PSA making a gun, with a different relationship with the frame and slide rails, at all, what so ever. Nothing wrong with the micro dagger ect. It would be way cooler if it was Glock compatible, and it could be if they controlled their tolerances better.

Because some examples of the micro dagger frame work with Glock upper assemblies, I know there is a window, within their tolerances that dose play nice, and if the window was narrowed into that range, it would be better for the customer, market, and sales for the company

You keep using the word “objective” but I’m frankly not sure you know what it means.

There is only one issue here, and for the third time, it is your assumption that PSA parts are built to the exact same specs as Glock parts and therefore should be 100% swappable back and forth. That is, in no way, shape, or form, stated or implied anywhere. PSA says their slides are compatible on 43 frames, that’s it.

The fact that you think it should be that way is nothing more than your opinion, and it has absolutely nothing to do with machining tolerances. The only way you could possibly boil it down to 100% a tolerance issue is if you had all of the information on the design specifications and build processes for both the Glock frame and the PSA, and none of us have any of that.

I don’t think you can read well.

keep it civil and friendly woodway

I can read very well, thank you. Straight from the horse’s mouth, the only note about Micro/Glock compatibility:

  • *PSA Micro slides are compatible with G43/G43x/G48 frames, barrels, and recoil assemblies.

This is what PSA says will work. Nothing about Glock slides being compatible with Micro frames. Nothing about Dagger parts being 100% swappable with Glock parts.

what about a 43 clone with 10rnds flush?

My striker and cruciform after around 250 rounds and double that in dry fire. The striker lug has the wear line coming in and is deforming where it drags across the the cruciform. The cruciform face itself is rounding off as well.

The trigger pull itself is still decent but not as good as new. There is now a slight increase in the creep when it hits the wall and a crunchy feeling to the break from the lip on the striker lug but it is still very usable. I know this is a budget pistol but the quality of the striker metal seems sub-par.

I know it’s not the same gun as a compact, but both of mine do not have that at all. And that’s after I’ve heated them up while polishing those surfaces. I’d get one of the PSA guys here or their CS dudes directly (website form or however you do it) and ask them if it’s something that needs to be replaced. Cause to me that just seems like maybe some bad parts or batch of them.

But I’m just a guy. Mine only have a little wear/more polish on the front and bottom face where they rest and slide against the cruciform. You can’t feel a thing running your nail over it. I’m at about 2k on each gun.

My full size that has over double the action as my micro just has slight rounding and wear and the break is super smooth. I’m just surprised how bad this micro striker has worn.
