Not surprising. 9mm and 5.56 have been the most in demand for the past 10 years (since the panic in early 2013). That was when i got into 300blk because that is what i could find at $9/box.

300bo surprised me at first being in the top 10.
I’m guessing so many people did the same 10 years ago and turned to it for affordability.

Yes sir.

Cheap .30 cal bullets and plenty of 5.56 brass made it work for reloaders. At one point PSA sold more 300blk uppers than anything else.

I didn’t even think about the reloaders, but that all makes sense now. Gosh I haven’t reloaded since I was a kid with my stepdad.

What I’m surprised at is the lack of a decent long range-big game hunting cartridge until number 7 on “rifle calibers only” which is the 30-06. My preferred long-range-hunting-caliber, which is 300 win mag, is number 10 on “rifle calibers only”.

Im not suprised at all. With the sunset of the AWB, large frame ARs in a variety of calibers have become standard. Civilian ownership follows what the military uses to a certain extent.

Very valid point :point_up: I myself tend to buy that way. If it’s good enough for the military then it’s good enough for me. And if the shtf those calibers are going to be most readily available in the aftermath, or so my theory says.

I pulled the screenshot from Ammoseek. Top sales is my understanding.

The top five don’t surprise me, as they are what I would consider the most popular range/plinking rounds. With ammo prices being low enough to negate most people reloading.

After those five, I would say reloading could really start to skew those numbers.

My personal combination is 60% of this list

I may have to reevaluate what I don’t have. No reason I shouldn’t have at least 39 uppers.
