Music links for Grown Folks

Colorado Song, Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

One of my all time favorites.

My wife and I love John Prine. We lost a legend this year when he passed away…

If you are married, or ever were, you will like this one. I don’t care who you are…

Thanks, that is the first time I had heard that song. As usual Prine hits it right on the head.
:ok_hand:

Now I like Southern Rock, Classic Country, Old school R&B, Classic Rock and Blues, and a lot of other music. Will post some here and there but don’t want to flood this thread with just my favorites. Everyone welcome of course to post. I went on YouTube, search for song, click share, then click on copy link, then paste it in here.

In spite of ourselves

Here’s one of my favorites from high school days

Hell yeah, love Uriah Heep. Similar to Deep Purple.

Love this one

My wife’s absolute favorite. Very high on my list too.

Michael Murphy ‘Desert Rat’.

Give it a try, it pretty much sums up an old forgotten old man out there in the world all alone…

Couldn’t resist linking this together…

This one is right up there with the greatest country tear jerkers. You will not, and probably never heard it on the radio.

Fly Eagle Fly, not be confused with Fly Like an Eagle by them, (Steve Miller also has song with same name.)

If you listen to this song, you will want to go to the woods. It pretty much is my new national anthem…
Of course I live by, have worn the flag on my sleeve in harm’s way, fly it on my flag pole, and stand, salute or hold my hand or hat over my heart for the Star Spangled Banner. Although when I was a kid we sung it every morning at school and pledged our allegiance to our flag and country. However, we also sang God Bless America, because that was also our National Anthem back then, official or not. And we would sometimes, and a lot of times sing that as our National Anthem.

Ray Charles at the World Series right after 9/11.

If this doesn’t bring a tear to your eye…

Ray Charles is the man.

From my high school days…

That was hardcore. Grew up listening to Black Sabbath, this sounds like mix between them and early Metallica. Had a buddy at Kunsan Air Base, Korea who was totally into metal. Pantera, Judas Priest, Motorhead, etc. We would get 10 foot tall and bullet proof on Soju (potato vodka) and run everyone slap out of the E7 barracks. I mainly listen to a lot tamer music, but once in awhile I like Sabbath, Soundgarden, and can’t forget Uncle Ted (Nugent). I once saw him at the Warehouse in New Orleans around 1976-77, and saw Black Sabbath in Denver Colorado with a new rookie, opening act called Van Halen in 1978.

P.S. I joke about Death Metal as having the lyrics "kill tha puppies, and drown da kitties, dah-dah-dant, nat, nah,:metal::metal::metal:

Soju can give American Moonshine a run for it’s money. :+1:t2:
