Just some random useless things I think about…feel free to criticize.
I’m just thinking out loud…the next war if the US Navy is the Theater Command would land forces be subject to the rules of land warfare?
I’m thinking how best to protect the US Army and US Marines from BS.
I’m for America’s will being imposed on this crappy world. If we just have treaty agreements based on games Lawyers play and the world’s most powerful Navy in charge of theater of operations and having support from the US Army and the US Marines well the world is ours. BUT ego will stop us ![]()
The Generals and Admirals wouldn’t have it.
We can always daydream right?
Surely the US Navy doesn’t think they are in charge of the US Marines. Do they? Do they?
I say let the USMC be free from the USN.
Imagine what the world would be like.
Still the USMC would need a ride. ![]()
Have you ever thought “How did I get this far?”
How did I live through that?
How did I get through that and not get shot?
I’m glad I shot him before he shot me.
Lifelong civilian here. I have nothing to add.
Last I heard the Marines were giving up Armor and invasion sized units in favor of small reaction forces. Does not make sense - they kicked ■■■ in Desert Storm and in 2003 invasion of Iraq along side (in coordination with) Army units.
Yeah, they talked about down sizing our Air Support Operations Units after Bosnia. They asked what I thought. I sent out an email to reply all that the idea was stupid as hell. Just to make logisticians planning easier. I said hell no, we are the United States, we don’t do Toyota Hilux with a Raghead in the back like a pack of hood rats. We carry a big stick and kick ■■■ we don’t take names.
I was 20 in the desert of Iraq in 1991 when I first found out the difference of a hiss or a snap of the sound of a bullet being shot at me.
The other four times was in October to December 2004 in Ramadi and Fallujuah, Iraq.
I’m just saying…:what in tarnation how does a human process trauma as an individual?
See this is the stuff humans have to figure out on their own. It’s about the journey.
I don’t know about you, but Jesus gave me Miller High Life for that trauma stuff.
The Marines. I crack on those crayon eaters out of love. I know they couldn’t last without the US Navy.
I like getting them worked up. They love the drama. ![]()
Amen.
I have a son-in-law with 2 Purple Hearts and is right now struggling severely with PTSD. Decorated Ranger beyond the PH’s. I pray and feel like I could help him but he doesn’t want to talk to me. I would only speak to him from a father’s standpoint which he doesn’t have a good one unfortunately.
Maybe that’s why he doesn’t want to speak to you?
I guess that the good Lord had unfinished business and plans for you. I ain’t got no good answers, but am sure glad you made it through hell and back. I thank you for your service and you putting your life on the line for all of us. This Veterans day is a time to reflect on all of those who risked it all and sacrifices that they made so that we may continue to enjoy our freedoms and way of life. ![]()

It’s all good man. I just feel the love from the vibes of those that are gone.
It’s F’d Up how Veterans Day feel like Memorial Day.
No from a father’s anguish of not seeing their children grow up completely as they should. What his children (my grand babies) will miss from not having a hero in their lives as close as he should be… the hollowness and emptiness that is left in the path he is traveling. Nobody can explain that unless they’ve seen it and lived it. The struggle of re-building a relationship with your children Tomorrow ends up worse than today.
I got a Father that loves to wag his finger, quote scripture and lecture. I don’t want nothing to do with him.
That’s not me. Ask my youngest son who as a child has seen things that no adult should see.
