FREEDOM IS NEVER MORE THAN ONE GENERATION AWAY FROM EXTINCTION. WE DIDN’T PASS IT TO OUR CHILDREN IN THE BLOODSTREAM. IT MUST BE FOUGHT FOR, PROTECTED, AND HANDED ON FOR THEM TO DO THE SAME. “RONALDREAGAN”

Our freedom is precious, yet rare. The majority of the people that live here in earth have never experienced the kind of freedom we enjoy in the US. I know many of you on here have served in law enforcement or the US Military, thank you, and I know I’m preaching to the choir but the choir needs to hear a good sermon once in a while. An individual CANNOT serve his country without being affected by the cost of freedom. The lives given, the blood shed, ask in the name of FREEDOM. Thanks to you all.

Sometimes in history it gets to feeling as if we are defeated. We are not. Your vote counts. Let your voice be heard. Please vote. And not just a straight line party vote, please research the issues on your ballot and pay careful attention to the wording. Vote for each of your local candidates, the local level is where most political careers begin. Mayors, trustees, city council members, school boards. Each vote is a drop in a bucket. No drops equals an empty bucket, but leave the bucket under the drip and before long the bucket is overflowing. Your vote counts. Your vote matters. Perhaps now more than ever.

We are exactly one week out at time of this posting. Vote early, take a friend, take a neighbor, have breakfast or lunch, offer to take the elderly that you know. Please vote.

Everyone needs to watch Reagan’s farwell speech.

I went and voted earlier today.

for 20 years my mom voted straight republican, stepdad voted straight democrat. even though they thought their votes canceled each other out, they voted in every election. local, state and national.

as my grandpa said, if you don’t vote you have no right to complain.

:metal:

American “Democracy” is like one of these Children’s Steering Wheels.

The Child can PRETEND he or she is in control.

In Oregon they put a measure on the ballot to partially de-fund the local police department, by not passing a sales tax.

I have been taking an informal poll, asking people when it is socially appropriate, like at the newspaper stand, how they are going to vote.

It’s 14-0-1 against the sales tax, the 1 being a woman who said she wanted to read the document that was mailed to voters.

I hadn’t registered to vote in Oregon, until about a month ago, when one of the county commissioners made what they may come to realize was a mistake. He said “if you don’t vote for the sales tax, it’s Akin to De-Funding the Police Department”.

Bingo !

I have had 2 experiences with the county police affected by the referendum -

  • a neighbor used them to harass another neighbor who was gold mining. The police spent 2 hours, driving out, talking to the guy in the creek, determined that what he was doing was AOK.
  • we had a fire-fighting hose cut on June 8/9. The police said “sorry can’t help you”. That hose protects about 70 square miles of raw forest.

Obviously 2 data-points are not enough to make a complete picture.

I have been trying to persuade 2 people I know who lost homes to wildfire, to both run for County Commissioner. Not against each other, for 2 of the 3 seats available.

Of course all I did was offer to give them each $20 for their campaign, in addition to saying “Please consider running, there’s a lot of people who will vote for you.”

I have taken another informal poll, which got pushed aside by the sales tax informal poll. “How many of you think the County Commissioners work for the General Public ?” That one went 0 for 10, so far.

Fyi bring a ballpoint pen please

Please continue to scare Democrats. Vote! In person if at all possible.

IMO-Our cockroach politicians need to stay in a state of uncertainty every time they start lying. They need to be fearful of “We The People “ :+1:t2:

I voted yesterday. Civic duty done.

My wife, sister-in-law and I voted early and conservatively yesterday.

I live in a heavily dem, demonstrably corrupt county. Even if I don’t go vote, a ballot will probably still get cast for me.

Yea i know that feeling…

The Poll Votes to Oppose the Sales Tax, and to De-Fund the County Police, are running 16-0-1 against the Sales Tax.

Usually I ask people who are standing near the News Stand at Walmart, but today I asked the young-old woman who gave me her shopping cart at the Dollar Store.

The Poll Votes to Replace all 3 County Commissioners are running 11-0 for replacing all 3.

I want to replace 2 of them with people I know who lost their homes in Wildfire. One is a woman named Linda who lost her home in the 2020 Labor Day fire, the other is a guy I know from the gym who lost his home in the 2017 Mendocino Fire. He is about 70 but he’s a very impressive Body-builder. Somehow at 70 he’s in better shape than Arnold at 70.

I’m collecting notes for a visit to the County Commissioners Meeting, which is Wednesdays at 9 AM. The Commissioners are now complaining about the “poor coverage” they’re getting from the local paper.

There is a conflict between Rural Landowners and the US gov. in Eastern Oregon. The recent articles about the 2 latest conflicts, e.g. the Malheur County Sheriff arresting the US Forest Service Supervisor, contain a common theme from the US gov. fire-fighters, “Let it all burn…”

Normally, fire-fighters NEVER say things like that.

The complaints from the County Commissioners about the small amount of criticism that is coming out publicly, and the “Let it all burn…” comments from fire-fighters, signify some kind of Social Shift underway.

Will be working at the polls again this election. It’s my second election so far. I’ve worked a primary, now a Mid Term. If we’re still voting in 2024 I plan to work my first general election. Like many have stated if you don’t get involved you really can’t complain about what you get as a result.

Thanks for your help at the polls. Managers and clerks are in short supply. I’ve been working at the polls here for quite a while and find it a rewarding experience and a necessity for our election system.

“We have one job left to do and that is turn out and vote and vote in big numbers. [Democrats] don’t just need to lose, they need to lose by a lot. They need to get the message: We will never be a socialist country. We will never be led by crazy people. You will not take us down the road of Marxism. You will not destroy America.” —Senator Marco Rubio

Go Vote PSA. When you vote in person you prevent the other side from “producing” the ballots needed to get their guy over the line.

Go Vote PSA. Have a nice day.

Maybe my vote will count in Nebraska. last election in California I never got my ballot, when I requested a replacement they said I already voted. So someone voted for me. But I cant say that out loud because I’d be labeled a conspiracy theorist…

When we voted to remove Gavin Newsome the envelopes had convenient holes to show which box you checked. If they haven’t removed the videos, it’s shown and explained on youtube. I never met a single person Dem or Republican that wanted to keep him in office. But somehow he remained. But again, I can’t speak the truth or I’d be a crazy person
