OK AR Guys and Gals… who knows what this one is?
it lookslike an a1 but the flash hider is hard to see and i cant tell without seeing the other side about if it has a fence around the mag release or not so im not so sure
Let’s see. Not carry handle charged, but no bolt hold-open.
Square lugs on pivot pin. I’m also not seeing a toggle on the selector, and cannot make out the flash hider at all. Delta Ring shape is not familiar to me, either.
You’ll forgive me please, I just cannot make out enough details for a memory-jog on my phone - it’s old, and the screen is tiny (compared to today’s phones).
The vagueness is intentional gentlemen, but some very keen observations already.
To show too much is to give its identity away too quickly.
I’m convinced it’s a Pre-Colt Proto, or Transitional.
Zooming in shows me the Delta Ring is just very battered-up: I originally thought it looked to be knurled - hard to see on my phone.
Interesting Boss on the takedown pin. I daresay a pic of the other side will reveal no fence, (and for that matter, no “standard” mag-release button!) no deflector, no Forward Assist/Jam Button, and another Boss on the takedown pin.
Ok her name is Frankenstein.
Armi Jager AP-74.
We have a Winner.
Armi Jager ( aka Adler Jager or Eagle Hunter) AP-74 in .22LR
These were made by a German and Italian Company in the 70’s and saw use in countless Movies and TV shows as Props in19 70’s and 80’s
I always wanted one as a kid. Pop wouldnt spring for it. I finally found this one about 2 years ago…and paid a 1975 price for it.
Weapons in 22LR and 32ACP are very popular in Italy. Military calibers are off limits to the private sector.
Armi Jager ceased production in 1993 do to lack of Skilled Labor. They remain as a Gun Shop only.
This one threw me off for awhile.
If it wasn’t for; Barrel Length, Delta Ring, Fire Control, Grip, Hand Guard, Mag Release, Magazine, Muzzle Device and Roll Marks.
I wouldn’t have determined to start looking foreign.
Excellent work…your Powers of Deductive Reasoning serve you well.

I was going to post this earlier but needed confirmation that this was the right company. In case anyone else wants a .22 replica.
Armalite AR-18 [ AP-75 ]
Kalashnikov AK-47 [ AP-80 ]
British SA-80 Bull-Pup [ AP-82 ]
Israeli Galil [ AP-84 ]
French FA-MAS Bull-Pup [ AP-85 ]
Absolutely the right company.
I know they Sold the Production side off years ago , then opted to run a more humble Retail Store.
I have no idea what became of the product line after the Original Owners sold out.
This was just a Reach of a Dream thing for a teen age boy whom mowed lawns for $4 and $5 a shot. Pop just wasn’t going to spring for it.
I finally got one of the Toys I couldnt afford or wasnt allowed to have a BuhZillion years ago.
I figured the Younger AR crowed might get a kick out of seeing something unique from the Olden Times.
Gah! I never considered something made by them dang-O Fornis in .22!
I swear, this thing had me racking my brain at work today…
The scope should have tipped me off - it was the wrong shape for a ‘50s era, and the mount is a generic, later pic-rail mount (very hard to see on this phone - but readily apparent now that I know what I’m looking at!)
Cool Rifle!
Hey. We all had some fun with this.
Mission Accomplished!

I’m new to the forum, but I’m pretty sure this is an AR-15 rifle. I know because I recently purchased one from https://walkeroutdoors.net/. It looks and feels just like the one in the picture. The AR-15 is a popular rifle and has been around for a while. It’s a great choice for hunters and recreational shooters. It’s also used by military and law enforcement personnel. AR stands for ArmaLite Rifle and is a semi-automatic firearm that uses a magazine to hold the cartridges. It has become an iconic symbol of the Second Amendment, and I’m proud to own one. Thanks for the opportunity to show off my knowledge!
