I’m looking at purchasing one of the 10.5 Nitride uppers for $189.99. Have any of you had any issues with the quality of these uppers? I’m assuming that it’s not one of PSA’s top tier upper models.
I have one - on a pistol build using the PSA 10.5 Nitride upper, and helped a friend with another - HIS only issue was he misplaced his disconnector spring, then (mistakenly) used an extractor spring in the disconnect from a bag of “spares” I gave him. Had a little Hammer Follow going on until I got him lined-out on which spring was the correct one.
MINE, the only issue is The Wife liked it so much, it’s not mine anymore…
I’m assuming that you’re referring to this upper:
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-10-5-5-56-1-7-nitride-upper-w-o-bcg-or-ch-507020.html
Essentially the same thing, just without the (more expensive) floating handguard or Charge Handle and BCG, instead with their A2-style handguard and front sight.
The AR is so modular, it’s a wonder there are any two on the planet the exact same!
I’ve been thinking about a couple of these myself - and if they are still in stock after the first of the year - I won’t be thinking about it anymore.
An Inexpensive CH, this BCG, and assembled Pistol lower of your choice - a person’s in Business.
I bought these BCG’s for my Bro and Bro-Outlaw’s carbine builds. They are quite nice, especially for the price.
That’s the upper I was referring to. I just want to be sure that it’s a quality build and not something thrown together.
it’s my absolute favorite upper, pair it with a nitride bcg, h2 buffer, and proper carry handle, soak it in clp… it’ll last a few life times…
top shelf dank
i confidently recommend this to all my friends
imo nitride is superior
I just ordered and received the 10.5 upper and the first thing that I noticed was that the flash suppressor is angled with the solid section in the 8 o’clock position instead of the usual 6 o’clock. Is that normal?
Probably just a little over tightened.
To correct it, I’ll need a new crush washer. How can I get one from PSA?
Why would you need a new washer? Just back it off a hair. I have overtightened them before, just back it off and it still should stay tight. It is known that PSA uses a gorilla to put them on.
The other option is that unless you are shooting prone, dont worry about it. The solid sections design is to prevent dirt from blowing up in your face.
Which it does, kinda…. ![]()
