Love that optic protector…… never run out of those……they are inexpensive and they work.
There is a thread titled “Light, durable & cheap. This should be posted there. It does the job perfectly….protecting the optic from impact and protecting the lens from dust n dirt while storing it.
Best of all it’s free……use those singles….that you can no longer find the matching other one.
Really loving the ARV too.
Looking Good ! How does it shoot ?
I have a total of about 60 or 70 rounds through it, and I like how it shoots. I’m really anxious to shoot it at nighttime to see how the flash hider works - might be a while. Easy target acquisition, seems very accurate, and it doesn’t have much kick. Love the Scorpion 35-rnd mags!
As for old sock singles, my first sock-of-protection (before firearms) was an old tube sock with two rolls of pennies - never got to use it, but I’m sure it would have left a mark. Now I keep extra magazines in them to keep them from scratching other stuff or collecting dust. Thanks for the pointer about “Light, durable & cheap…”!
interesting flash hider… glad you like how it shoots… it looks to be a cool pistol.
Said I’d be back to post once I get my suppressor on it. Here’s the Rad 9 on the AR-V!
Guys let me tell you, I had the most fun yet at the range today.
Looks good!
I just picked up an AR-V 7" 9mm Faux MP5 and let me tell you, it is sweet! It feels solid and well balanced! I added some H&K style BUIS and a single point QD bungee sling so far…looking to add an optic, maybe Romeo 5. I might get a can at some point but I am not anxious to dive into the NFA world just yet!
I LIKE IT ! ! NICE !
I have couple of PCC’s……But you gotta a nice one……now I am itching for a new one.
A little update…someone on here mentioned a 3 lug compatible flash can. That is just what I needed since I have a 3.5" barrel but a 7" rail. I plan to use my suppressor once it’s out of jail, but in the mean time I had to remove the handgaurd to shoot my AR-V. Not anymore. Bought a 4" flash can from In Lead We Trust and it arrived today. I went with the 1.5" OD version which unfortunately didn’t fit due to mlok screws being too long. 15 min and a file and problem solved. I also sanded the rear lug on the AFG down so I could back it up and put my sling QD in front of it instead of on the side. On the side I felt like it was in my way. Not anymore.
Another update…I went by True Value and bought a 8-32 × 3/8 bolt and a plastic shelf pin. $1.07 and my bolt catch now has a lever on it. I’m going to try a safety selector on it eventually, waiting to hear back from a company on their specs. But for now this works well. It doesn’t move (I painted it ODG). It gives much better purchase on the bolt release.
Following! The only part of the AR-V that I dislike is the bolt release button! Mine barely moves!
I played with it more last night. I need to put some blue locktight on the screw but I was hitting it pretty hard and it didn’t move. Easy fix.
yeah this really kicks butt… cheap fix for a small annoyance.
Great idea for the fix. I’d love to see Palmetto State come out with an enhanced mag release
What are you guys using for vise blocks, etc??
Thanks in advance.
The only real thing i needed a vise for when assembling mine was the barrel nut. I have a wheeler vise block that uses the takedown holes.
Thank you! How did you torque down your castle nut while keeping the lower fixed?
I have a feeling mine is going to be very similar to yours but with with the grey SB HBPDW I stumbled on, a more grey theme, and an MRO. Yours is pretty swanky looking though. The OD mix turned out very nice.
I have rubber vice covers that I used…the castle nut doesn’t need to be gorilla torqued. I’ve actually held the lower between my knees before and done it. If you are concerned, you can stake it, but I have never had one come loose.
beautiufl.
Is that the Dead Foot Arms MCS and Folding brace?
