feels good, but i want to take it off and put it back on maybe see what’s going on here

i can see the spring slightly… going to just try reassembling first… i went with pa10 gen3 very specifically because of the reviews and general consensus its the best place to start on a new ar10 build

edit: other than that i dont see a single blemish it looks very clean, the real test will be when i get it all built… i have a 16" barrel with midlength gas system, not as short as i originally planned but i can use whatever buttstock on it so that’s cool

thats cool. it does look like the spring is not in the hole for the take down pin detent properly. i hope reseating it fixes the issue.

yeah that is the plus side of being able to run with the 16" mid length is you can use any buttstock you wish.

Mine looks exactly the same and when I disassembled for re-skin, it all went back fine. The soft material just has give in it. That said, no more than decent grips cost, if you aren’t confident in it, I don’t think you’d regret the decision to swap.

very interesting, when i took it apart i noticed the spring was pushing directly against the rubber, so i took a knife and cut a tiny hole where the indent was and now the spring seats easier and my safety feels much smoother…

Was it a thin skin covering the channel? Like some flashing from the mold? You have me curious

i should of took a photo, now that its clean i dont want to take apart again, it is only the spring to the take down pin the other spring sits in a plastic hole. however the first spring is just pushing against that rubber, i had to use a razor blade to carefully cut a little hole where the spring was just pushing against, seemed like solid rubber, to give it a little relief and catch the spring better.

was easy to do, but i recommend a razor blade and be very careful obviously

That’s good to know. As long as mine continues to impress me, I’ll leave it as-is, but I am definitely filing this away in the subconscious archives.

+1 with you 100% there. It’s the amazon age. Everyone has cardboard boxes that turn back into dirt. Shoot that if you want field expedient targets

Finally got out to the range today. We have two of these but we only built one so far. Ran wolf polyperformance and red and IMI, the red and wolf shot the tightest groups. The IMI was all over the place. So, guess it’s steel for real. That’s my son, I can’t hit sh…

IMI should shoot better, probably the sun was in his eyes. Needs a bigger sunshade on objective. /s

But seriously, barrels are like kids. Some will eat anything fine, some like the healthy choice, and some will only eat junk food. Most of mine are on a steady diet of skittles.

Have you had any problems with jamming? I have had a PA10 in 6.5 Creedmoor for about a year and a half now and have constant issues with what appears to be mostly failure to eject.
16click jam1

It needs more gas if it isnt ejecting.

My ejection pattern is light but consistently clears the empty case. Im with GG; just needs a bit more gas

i’d agree with this… when i had my 6.5 creedmoor, psas upper and thus it had an adjustable gas block on it. I never shot the weapon before i sold it off, but i figured that it having had one from the factory, they had figured out that sometimes you may need to mess with it for some reason or another.

Is the default buffer and spring the same on both the pa10 and pa65? Curious because I want a .308 lower to use with both .308 and 6.5 CM.

I have tried adjusting my five-position gas block from fully closed to fully open without finding any setting that gave good results. PSA said the factory setting is 16 clicks open which only worked for 10 rounds, after that it jammed every 2-3 rounds. I tried going down to 12 clicks and working up to 19 clicks with no luck.

Make sure it isnt loose or that it has become misaligned.

Or a foreign object is lodged in it, loose gas key, etc….
