Original Vibe "The Tactical Games" Replacement?

I’ve completed several of The Tactical Games competitions. TTG has changed ownership twice now since I started. It has skewed further from the original intent becoming more gamer and crossfit oriented with each change over. The competitions are still challenging and the overall scope remains training for the unknown however now it’s not what drew me in to begin with.

Looking for something along the lines of the original which combined physical work and service grade firearms.

Suggestions?

i know what you’re talking about but tbh sorta have the opposite opinion i really love how much more gamer oriented events became and all the gamers that come out “get it” we have fun, and then adding more movement is a huge bonus for this generation of gamers who idolize keanu… if i may ask, what was it that you initially liked more or changed with this specific event?

I guess that I must admit that I haven’t even the first Clue what you guys are talking about…

me neither… but I want to…

ok, cool circuit training. I like it and have been looking for something like this in my area. Unfortunately it really isn’t in my area. How are the online training programs, you still need a gym to train at right?

It’s called the United States Army. They saved you a spot.:us_outlying_islands: Hooah…

I liked that the arms race was finally over in competitive shooting. While expensive gear doesn’t make a poor shooter any better it does cause standards to change. When targets get further/smaller adaption from competitors has to happen. That adaption usually equals acquiring the latest and greatest whizbang whatever.

Originally TTG was mil-spec BCG, iron sights and red dot on rifle. Pistols were iron sights only. This put the precision on the shooter. There wasn’t any visible impact feedback for hold overs/unders when engaging reduced sized targets at varying distances available to the shooter. I enjoyed that. Being confident with your hold and sending the prescribed amount downrange either made you or broke you.

Competitive shooting influences many aspects of all shooting related activities be it professional or sport. It would be silly to not use a more efficient system in a professional setting. The proliferation of red dot equipped handguns in civilian LEO use and the suppressed LPVO rifle use in .gov agency’s is proof of such.

There were existing avenues for individuals who wanted to run open class firearms in competition. TTG was a departure from the rest of the competitive world and I miss that.

Long story short, I’m looking for suggestions on competitions that still put emphasis on the competitor and not the gear.

That’s cute

yeeeeah, I went down to the recruiters office the other day. They told me I was a bit too old to join any of the services. I said I was only in my 60’s and I could still beat most of the clowns they are taking in now including him. He still said no.

When I joined the cut off was 35 years old. Now it’s 45-47. Their numbers must be way down or they need some grown folks to mentor them there millenniums.
:rofl::us_outlying_islands:

45 is millennials they just don’t want us boomers telling how pinko they are… and to get off the damn lawn!

The average age in the military was 27 during WWII, it was 19 during Vietnam. We all bleed the same…:us_outlying_islands:

rmr should be banned from all forms of life not just competitions… and i agree basically
