PA-10 Firing Pin compatibility

I have used the search option to see if this already been asked … nothing came up…
I have read that a DPMS style BCG may be compatible with the pa10…
I am curious as to the firing pin and extractor parts…if the same applies to the pa10 g3.
I have signed up for notifications on all parts but no joy yet.
I like having those spare parts on hand should the situation arise they are needed…
Having parts break and unable to get replacements just leaves the gun a oversized paper weight…
Fate favors the prepared mind…and backup parts bin…LOL

Dpms bcgs will work in the pa-10.

Is that the DPMS G2 you’re talking about as far as compatibility with the psa10?

I also have a DPMS G2 that I’d like to have spare parts for

By G2 do you mean the small frame 308 or the gen 2? I dont have any experience with the small frame 308.

Ok…so that part is accurate…but what I was asking…
Is the Firing Pin the same…LR 308
Is the Extractor/parst the same…LR 308
and will they work in a PSA BCG…if not…What other brands will work as Replacements for the PSA parts…if any…
and might as well throw in the Gas Rings…are they LR 308 type as well…
With respect…the whole reason for asking these questions is owners, such as myself and others, like having backup parts JIC (just in case)… one never knows what might happen, or say being in a match and you break a Firing Pin or Extractor claw or gas rings go out… with no replacements you are done/out and have to go home…ect.
I mean you have a spare tire for your car…yes, and doughnuts count as spares…

A post was merged into an existing topic: PA-10 Parts List with SKU’s (was PA-10 Bolt Kit)

Even though I own a DPMS G2, I am not terribly familiar with the intricacies of it. I bought it what must’ve been at least 15 years ago before DPMS went out of business. I am not terribly versed on it, but I do believe it’s a small frame.

That is indeed the small frame. When JJE aquired DPMS they only receievd intellectual property, no tooling. They have not yet re-released the G2 so there are few and far between spare parts. Check CDNN for new old stock.

Will do thanks. :ok_hand:t3::ok_hand:t3:

Thanks… I would like to post this in the pinned Parts list if that is ok…

Your “DPMS” pattern BCG will work with other brand extractors, Fulton Armory, JP, Toolcraft ( Makes most of the PSA LFAR BCG’s )
Firing pin wise… the current PA10 308 BCG will work with many other FP’s provided the tip size is around .077" FP tip size. The bolts FP hole will be around .083"
I have measured quite a few “308” sized FP’s , with the larger sized tip and the tip can vary from .076", .077" and .079"

However…Be aware the Dual Ejector 6.5CM uses a small diameter tip size and bolt hole to help with primer cratering.
The 6.5CM Dual Ejector BCG uses a .069 Bolt FP hole, with a .068 FP Tip size. Note the FP is Tapered.
I have yet to see PSA sell these tapered FP’s as a back up parts, And DO NOT use the smaller tipped FP in a larger holed bolt.

FWIW, I would love to see PSA sell the smaller diameter tapered FP as a separate part. With a note in the description mentioning only for use in the 6.5CM Dual ejector BCG.
I don’t have my pic handy of the Tapered LFAR FP… so I will borrow “Top O’ Texas” photo

Gas rings will be the same for .308 BCG’s

The one part I would I would have spares of … is the PA10 / PA65 Bolt catch. I haven’t broken one after many thousands of rounds, but like you I prefer to have spares.
The PA10 / PA65 uses a proprietary PSA Bolt Catch.
And if memory serves me the Mag catch is the longer style, since the 308 is wider.
And I believe the upper to lower pivot pins are PSA proprietary length

Possibly for the dual ejector…at least it says that is what it is for…

I am currently looking at a CMMG MK 3 firing pin…I seen that tool craft makes that one as well…so I am going to roll the dice and see…LOL
