I’m shooting right now. Runs like a racecar with the H2 buffer. Using both 300bo and 556 mags. The buffer seems to be the solution. Thank you.
You were 100% correct. It was the buffer.
Welcome.
Just wondering - did you run the same ammo/bullet tip shape after changing buffer?
Yes. Tried to be methodical in my troubleshooting.
9 out of 10 times the buffer fixes it.. but what you found is very interesting and shouldn’t be overlooked
Yeah, I have not seen that particular issue in AR platform, and while I have handled and operated them (M-16/4) since 1979 still don’t know everything and probably never will. If I don’t know, and simple visual or logical reasoning don’t work, I try to find someone who knows or has seen the problem before.
Hell, if I knew everything I couldn’t ever learn a damn thing… ![]()
I usually just see what all y’all say and figure. Other times I try to make somewhat intelligent inputs to the conversation.
I have the same upper. But i bought the complete rifle
It’s been almost 100% reliable over the past year 1500-2000 rounds thru it. All malfunctions were ammo induced( mixing supers and subs in same mag. Or running subs unsupresssed). a few feeding issues i can now probably blame the buffer
I swapped the kak shockwave with a milspec buffer tube kit from a local shop.
Will be swapping buffers with h2 after reading this
