I read somewhere that the nitride coating is only on the outside of the barrel for our PSAK GF3s.
Can someone verify its in both inside and outside or is it really just the outside?
Nitride is done via immersion so i dont see how they could only do outside. Are you thinking of phosphate?

They’d have to plug both ends of the barrel bore to do that. With temperatures involved, I really doubt they would do that. To not include the bore would just add complexity to the process.

Yes, it is both inside and outside.
The entire POINT of Nitride/QPQ/Tuftride/Melonite/Tenifer etc. process, is to Harden/Abrasive-Resist the wearing-surface(s) of the metal.
Useless process, if the Chamber and Bore are not being included.

Yeah, it wouldnt really make sense to just do the outside if its submersion process.
