Psa Krinkov? Edit: see post 117

AK-105 seems cool but it’s no krink. There’s no shortage of ‘like-krinks’ out there. (Shorty AKs) But I’m stubborn and holding out for one. But I will say the 105s are one of the first 5.45 pistols so it’s def a step in the right direction, lol.

A bit of tin foil hat idea here.
It always perplexed me that it seems most of the parts to build a krink we’re already being produced. I.e. 74 carriers, bolts, hinging top covers… etc.
Obviously there’s production lines and whatnot but still, seems like it would be a slam dunk. Then I remembered that were was some talk about 5.45 in a krink barrel length keyholeing. So I’m curious if perhaps they were running into to some issues with certain types of ammo and needed a bit more time of R/D before it was ready for market. Which would also explain the release of the upcoming 105.

Hopefully PSA is still going to hit their 2021 ship date for Krinks. Would be a wonderful Christmas gift from me to myself. (I’ve earned it  )

The 5.45 keyhole issue was the Century version of the Polish Tantal. What happened was, Century got their hands on some imported Tantal kits with cut receivers and missing barrels. So they built the guns with new receivers but the barrels had to be made. They were made incorrectly, basically the chamber would accept a 5.45x39mm cartridge but the barrel itself was reamed out for .224”, basically it was made for 223/556. This gave the bullet some “wiggle room” and it flew down the barrel, causing instability and the keyhole effect down range. This is where Century gets their reputation for being bad gun builders, and it also damaged the Tantal’s reputation, which are actually exceptional rifles assuming the one you have hasn’t been touched by the hacks at Century.

Yeah the more I read about krinkov keyholing the more I found lack of real reports about it keyholding. Seems to be just a myth. Shawgunner, appreciate the info.

So which PSA employee is gonna take a bribe to get me a dozen Krinks? They must have some ready by now.

To be fair…that 105 does look sick, lol
But I’m still holding out for my Krink. If I had my business where I want it, I’d get both…in several colors, lol. But i’m still on that grind.

After shooting enough 5.56 with a 7.5” barrel I prefer the idea of a 12.5” barrel for a 5.45

Hope they’ve been building tens of thousands and are ready to unleash them on the unsuspecting public.

I haven’t seen anyone ask this yet, apologies if I missed it. Can any PSA rep confirm if there are plans to make this in a version with a folding stock-ready rear trunnion?

I asked a similar question for all the Ak pistols. I believe the answer is yes.

It should be. Like their AK-V you can add a piece called the ‘puzzle piece’ that turns the rear trunnion into a standard AK trunnion and from there you can choose your folding mechanism/stock.
Manticore Arms makes a pretty beefy triangle stock and I think Storm Werkz is what I used for a folding adapter back when I had a folder setup. I switched it to a fixed stock because the folding stock triangle stock was just too short for my taste (long arms).

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! My apologies on the delay in answering this. I hate to be the bearer of bad news here. I asked and was told that the Krink has taken a back seat to a product that will be announced at Shot. I was not kept in the loop on this one recently. Once Shot comes around, I will have license to let you know which one it is. Most folks will be excited about it and will understand! I pray you will be, but understand that many will not. Jamin said that this new project will put the Krink coming out at the end of next year.
