Reloading Bench

I’m in the process of building a reloading bench. I will be using t-track. Some folks mount the t-track on the front of the bench, some 2-3” back. The spacing of the tracks seems consistent at 8” on center of track. What is your experience?
Cheers,
Gary

Hello, noob here. I want to get started in reloading my own ammunition…I think. Will it save me money in doing so? I have a lot of brass for 9mm, 5.56/.223 and some SW.40 . Can anyone tell me what the bare minimum equipment that is required to start reloading?
Seems that its getting more and more expensive to have any kind of hobby. I am into H.O. model railroading, snowmobiling, and hunting & shooting. Any of them hobbies rapes the krap outta of dude.

They’re a lot of good resources on youtube. I would suggest that you check out the UltimateReloader and Johnny’s Reloading bench. Look at a lot of different stuff, reloading is a highly individual undertaking. Everybody does it differently , watch a bunch of videos and figure out what methods and procedures make sense to you. Don’t get discouraged, we all make the same mistakes. I think most reloaders are like me and will tell you that they enjoy their time at their reloading benches nearly as much as their time at the range.

As for saving money, that all depends on how much you shoot. The match grade rifle ammo that I load costs me less than a third of what store bought costs, on the other hand I can’t load 762x39 for what I paid for my factory stuff. It’s a tough time to get started, start shooting mil surp ammo and save the brass, start accumulating presses and gear, when powder and primers reappear you’ll be good to go!!

Anybody seen small rifle primers in stores yet? I’ve heard rumors they’re slowly coming back.

I doubt that they’ll be in stores for a while, they’re slowly coming back online. You have to be diligent, I got a couple of thousand(large&small) from Midway a couple of weeks ago but they only lasted 5 mins. They had some up yesterday for a few mins. but I missed them. Keep checking ammo seek and act immediately!!

what do you think about this Reloading primers (Fact or Fiction)?

My first “kit”, that I assembled was a Lee handloader, dies, lube, primers powder and bullets. Probably well under $100.00 back then. So, you can get started pretty inexpensively. Saving money? Nah! You just shoot more.
