Remanufactured ammo

That is an absolute DISGRACE and tragedy.

Ive been buying from lax for years. Never had an issue

I would literally shoot anything that isn’t rusted over, and 30+ years old. I’ve had bad rounds in remans, but it’s like…k? And? Clear and move on.

I’ve bought and used stuff from Precision One in North Charleston area. They test every lot they sell and give you the data on the cartons. Their stuff seems as good as new ammo which they also produce

I have used both Lax and Capital and have never had a problem. I used 223 and 300 blackout and will buy again.

I stopped using ReMan years ago… a lot of split necks in .223 cases.
The cost savings were not going to out way a replacement firearm for me.

FWIW… Freedom Munitions has a higher than “normal” instances of KaBooming various firearms.
Their QC, regarding the KaBooms is concerning.

There are suitable ReMan manufacturers out there… its just hard to find them.

My brain keeps locking up on the " This ammunition is not intended for use with suppressors." disclaimer in the posted links.

This would imply that the projectiles may or may not stabilize. A projectile that isn’t stabilized could tumble and zoomy off.

This leads me to believe they are using factory seconds projectiles like Midway sells with a disclaimer.

The same $200 a person spent on 500 rounds of multi-tiered disclaimer ammo would buy 400 rounds of new ammo.

Valid point.
But as someone else stated, I’m just shooting paper.
For me it’s strictly for plinking purposes only.

Noticed that in some of the cases I pull down, the powder doesn’t all simply pour out. Quite a bit stays behind in some. I loosen it up with a small nail, then pour that out, and finish by tapping the case mouth down on the bench. A compressed charge would surely happen with automated equipment. That could run pressures to a destructive level.

Going to give it a shot!

Good luck!

I’m hoping that Freedom just bought the LAX name and let them continue their own manufacturing process.

If not, “his name was Robert Paulson”

I’ll be sure to report back, hopefully in one piece!

My re-remanufactured ammo shoots pretty well. Went to a 4 inch length of wire with a bent tip to loosen up the “stuck” propellant. Being reduced slightly, ejection is far less than the 30+ feet reported as normal with an HK91 clone. The propellant mix is a mixture of fine ball and small extruded granules. Probably similar burn rates.

Local gun clubs around here were selling bulk factory new .223/556 for about that last year no shipping. Why do all my hobbies brake me financially. I should have stuck with bicycles and disc golf… or invested in a home gym at 16 years old.

Tell me about it. Back when I was a kid I was into video games and thought that was an expensive hobby.

Then as an adult there was modding cars, motorcycles, guns, and beer…

These came today. Seems like it took forever to get here, ordered 12/18/24 but of course the holidays.
250 rounds per mini plastic ammo can.
Some cases do have very minor dings in the case but nothing that should affect shooting paper targets.
Highlighted picture of the worse of a sample lot.
I’m happy  with the purchase .41 delivered!

Dented cases are not a big deal unless they are deformed to where they won’t chamber properly. Where the bullets are not straight there will be reduced accuracy even if they do chamber OK.
Still pulling the 7.62 NATO and reassembling with measured charges. I’ve noticed that the ones with more propellant after I pull the bullet also have a bunch that won’t pour out. Those I have to loosen up with a piece of wire at the bottom of the case. Probably was an overload where some ran 130,000psi when tested. With a proper charge of the propellant (well mixed) from the pull-downs it shoots plenty well enough for plinking.

Finally got around to trying these out
Did a mag dump and they were :100:
Not a single hiccup out of a PSA 7.5 pistol.

I’ve used LAX and freedom munitions for years with 223 and 9mm. I’ve had maybe two failure to fire out of a few thousand rounds. Heard of a guy with a squib .308 from freedom but I never have. Shooting their reloads is so much cheaper than me reloading. I worked it out last year. It was within .01 per round so I’d rather not waste my time reloading unless I’m shooting long distance and need the accuracy.
