Had a fraternity brother that always “took one for the team.”
I had a blast in my twenties!!!
At least I think I did
Hard to be sure……those years are kinda fuzzy ![]()
Truly. The 20’s were too fast, a stiff breeze I could blow my load. Then I got old. ![]()
Youth is wasted on the young…
i had a blast in my 20’s and 30’s… i was going good up to 42… then the dang cancer set in and well being grown up and ill sucks.
but it beats the alternative!!!
I’m enjoying mine, though I look forward to getting older and wiser. From a young age, I’ve learned to respect my elders and for good reason
2 years in the NAVY going to exotic places. ( joined at 18) Riding my motorcycle from Idaho to California to South Carolina in the same trip. married, divorced and married again. 2 wonderful kids. Knowing not thinking I was bulletproof. What a decade.
Now that I am north of 60 my body is regretting some of the things I did then.
Would still do them again though.
Remember my 20’s?!?! Hell, I can’t seem to recall where my 30’s and 40’s went!

Nah really, it’s been a good ride. I miss my 20’s, but am fully appreciative of the knowledge and maturity I’ve gained, leading me right where I’m at today.
Had not really thought about that for a bit. I have to agree with most everyone above in one way or another. Unsure how and why I survived for so many reasons. Jumping from planes, rappelling in the dark from choppers, dirt bikes, 340 dart…
Started my 20’s as a USMAPS cadet and ended it as a father of 2 (of 4) in my second house married to a great lady, (45 yrs so far…) and starting a telecom business.
What a great time but as noted if I knew then what i know now
I’m 25 and I haven’t had too crazy of a time (just not who I am) but so far I’ve gone on some extremely fun adventures with my siblings (early-late 30s). I know these are the times I’ll remember forever.
Ah, the 1920’s, I remember them well, and we called them the roaring 20’s…oh, wait,…you mean when I was in my 20’s? Good times!
Once in a while the mind says, well just maybe, and then the body jumps in and says, oh no you don’t
Almost to 40, Was living it up to the max in my 20s, invincible i felt. May have partied a bit too much and too long but it was amazing times.
I think i cherish my earlier childhood through higschool more so though just due to the friends i had and rolled with in those days. Unforgettable group of guys and gals.
I got married at 19, and had all 3 of my children by 25. They’re all grown adults now. I miss those days when they were little. It’s funny, you don’t realize you’re in the prime of your life until it passes you by.
this is perhaps the biggest kick in the nuts about life i’ve noticed as i’ve begun approaching turning half a century old. (2.5 years left) and perhaps i have a bit mor cynical point of view due to the last 4-5 years because of my health deciding to basically go down and live with jim jones in Jonestown. ![]()
its ok though, cause im still young. 50 is the new 30 they say… so if i make it there… i figure i can push for another 20 years at least God willing
that way when im like 70-75, i can say my 40’s were the best of times. hahaah
For a long time (Decades) I routinely dreamed about being killed by a bear. Now in my late 50s I dream about growing old and feeble.
I honestly preferred the bear
