Ruger American 5.56

I upgraded my Ruger5.56 a while back and have been doing the experiment thing for a spell, but I finally got her going.

The accuracy wasn’t horrible, but got better when I nixed the cheap stock for the Magpul, and finally got the right fit of a scope, I went from various Arkin and Primary Arms to Vector 1-10x Continental and finally feel she is ready for yotes and smaller game.

This is my last 3-round grouping @ 100yd with 75 grain PRIVI .223.

Nice set-up brother! My first introduction with a magpul X22 stock on a 10-22 was last year. PSA deal 18 1/2" threaded barrel, the stock feels so correct to me compared to OEM.

Looks like it’s working great! Good to know that the mail stock helps. I try not to admit to being a Magpul fanboy, but I absolutely am. They make such consistently great products. Nearly all my stocks, magazines, little accessories, everything is Magpul if I can help it, most of the time. If only they’d make a stock for the Ruger American Rimfire.

i too love Magpul, however i 've y et to try that stock on anything. its great to hear a good review on it from two of you… on two different rifles. I think magpul is one of the few consistent ar parts and gun parts designers that actually get it and are almost always consistently coming out with great products.. Sadly, though, they do not make anything.. they only design and pay someone else to produce it.

Do you have the plain X22 or the hunter version? I have a regular contour barrel, and am doing rock-paper-scissors between this and Houge
