I picked this up a week ago, the day before going to NC for a week. I hate when that happens. This is probably going to be my new “setting by the front door” armadillo rifle. S&W makes a companion pistol that takes the same 20 rd magazine that I will be getting as soon as I find one in stock for below MSRP. I already have the 9mm FPC and they make one in 10mm which, of course I need to complete the set. I may load one of the spare magazines with rat shot. Sig Romeo 7S red dot, Olight Baldr S green laser/flashlight and SilencerCo Sparrow. And yes, I have read the stuff on the interwebs about Olights blowing up like a thermonuclear device and if that ever happens to me I will be sure to document it.
I have an Olight and it’s been fine. Anecdotal, but don’t really care about the guys who constantly harp over one-time incidents.
My buddy just bought a 9mm FPC after falling in love with my PC Charger and the idea of 9mm carbines/PDWs, can’t wait to shoot it.
That looks like a fun rig.
Same for me with the Olights. I accept that some people have a problem. Maybe one day I will too, but until that day I’ll enjoy the super convenient magnetic charging and decent performance for a great price. I mean, it’s a flashlight, not a pacemaker. It’s OK if some units have issues.
Thats pretty cool.. if im not mistaken that they have one of those also in 5.7x28 which is the one that im hoping to get myself. I would then also pair it with their 5.7x28 pistol as well. I like how some of these manufacturers are coming out with firearms that have a compliment pistol or carbine for that pistol .
I’ve got a couple 0-light’s and i havent had any issues with them yet at all. ive not heard of them going thermonuclear at all, however it is good that you’ve mentioned this, if it is a thing thats happened its good to be aware of it.
I’ve actually questioned a few of the posters that go ballistic anytime someone mentions Olight about their personal experience with one and of course they immediately get defensive but finally either go quite or admit they have never had one but their brothers best friends 2nd cousin knew a guy that had his bird finger blown off when the battery exploded. I try not to spread information I can’t personally verify. I only have that one but wouldn’t hesitate to buy another. I know batteries can be dangerous. I had a drone battery almost burn my house down.
yeah batteries can be bad… but luckily ive never had any issue with the olight batteries at all. so until i do i’ll just call it even then. and treat them as good as any other light i have.
Just as an update, PSA notified me today the M&P .22X, which is the pistol mate to the .22 FPC is back in stock and I have one on order. They use the same 20 rd magazines.
