Techs are having a terrible day for me. Can’t get to their jobs.
Everyone safe?
Thankfully it went around us…this wind though.
Kinda did up here as well.
WATCH: Tornadoes tear across America’s heartland, leaving catastrophic destruction in multiple states
![]()
I was just watching the destruction that we see every year. A house and memories that cost your life to built gone in a matter of seconds. The folks living in the Texas panhandle should get free Tornado insurance from the state, no questions ask. I live in Colorado and I really feel for these folks, these are the same people or states that get hit year after year, the saddest part is that the US government has spent hundreds of billions abroad in the past year along. Not criticizing some of the needed aid send to other countries, but these people get hit every year. Fema just give you a few buck for groceries and whatnot.
This is just heartbreaking, regardless what economic echelons they belong to, all we can do is pray for them and all senior officials in charge of restoration for these folks that they take the right decision and help these folks to the maximum allow by law in these difficult times.
i cannot imagine what it would be like to live your life as we do, and then have a natural disaster wipe out everything you worked hard for your entire life… poof gone. your family heirlooms, your family maybe even… pets, not just objects that you had accumulated over hte years… i just cant imagine it. I truly do feel for folks who get hit by that stuff. it has to be devastating. prayers out to everyone whos effected by those natural disasters.
I never forget when Maria hit my mother land of Puerto Rico. I was watching the news from Puerto Rico here in Colorado, and they were interviewing this guy who lost his house his wife and all his children, my heart sunk in that moment with pain, to this day. I still think of the poor guy, when we think we are suffering, just look back!!!
yeah we have it pretty easy here in the states for the most part. but there are a lot of folks who dont, and i really try to remember them because so many dont.
Katrina
we luckily didnt get effected from katrina. Hugo was the last one that effected the midlands the most part…
Hugo hit us all the way to eastern PA. Had a guy get hit in the back by a 3,000 lb drill collar that dropped out of the elevator on a drilling rig. He lived but had a hematoma that looked like somebody stuffed a football under his skin.
wow… im surprised he lived. thats crazy.
As I have mentioned previously
Hurricane Michael went center track ( eyewall ) over our house in Callaway Florida in Oct 2018. Tyndall AFB just across the bay anemometer failed at 157MPH sustained winds. We evacuated to Georgia. Came back three days later, war zone - 24,000 lineman, trees down everywhere clear up to Eufaula Alabama 120 miles inland.
My wife crying upon entering the house after our return. You can see the sky through bedroom ceiling
I can’t find photo on my phone of every tree down around our house, but I will . We lived on a bayou just off of a bay. 3 feet of saltwater in our house. All of our mowers and log splitter had saltwater in the engines. A lot of our things were ruined on the first floor.
Be safe our Texas brothers!
Thanks Jammo. It’s been absolutely crazy here. Flooding everywhere. Over 20 inches of rain in 48 hours. And the crazy has been going on for a week. Monday morning around 3 a friend of mine and his wife were in their home in Trinity County when a tornado directly hit them. After it was over a neighbor found his wife in the pasture out back and my friend was buried under the rubble that was their home. A car was also on top of him. Emergency personnel dug him out of the rubble and they were both transported to the hospital in Conroe. She was treated and released. He sustained serious abdominal and pelvic injuries. They had to keep his abdomen open and him unconscious all week. He died yesterday.
Initial story
Yesterday
Jimmy was a good man and it was an honor to serve with him 12 years ago.
Folks in these areas check in and let us know how you are doing!
