Hype doesn’t equal sales
It’s easy to say “a .50 is awesome!” but it’s an entirely different story to pony up for one, and that’s before even getting into the ammo cost.
Aac can make the 50 bmg ammo cheaper and there are other new 50 cal products coming to market including Brandon’s.
With the powder shortage causing downsizing at AAC, I really doubt they’ll be interested in picking up any new rounds let alone something like 50bmg for a long time.

Dang powder shortage I thought the company in Arkansas was working on thier gunpowder project.
I kinda doubt that too. I’ve seen 50bmg cheaper than some of the much smaller rounds. Not because it’s cheaper to make. It’s cheaper because sometimes you can get surplus and the companies making it for the military mass produce it.
Unless AAC produces on that kind of scale, it’s going to be near impossible. AAC doesn’t even make 9mm cheaper than others.

Yeah, it’s definitely been confirmed by PSA and others. Like I said, 50bmg from AAC is probably off the table for a long time. Not that that’ll have anything to do with these poll results though.
Don’t recall anyone @ JJE saying anything about downsizing @ AAC.
JJE has been downsizing at the ammo plant in terms of positions hired for. There is a gobal powder shortage that hopefully will be rectified in 6-8 months.
The reality is few people will pay $5/round for 50bmg ammo.
I might be willing to buy 20 or so rounds maybe once a year. If I could borrow the rifle instead of having to pay several thousand for one. lol

And an even further reality is how many of those said people have access to ranges that are .50bmg friendly. It’s an extremely small market.

No it does not. They are concept guns. X57 won last year and its still being developed. Concepts take time from beginning phases to production release.
My understanding is that it took exceptionally long for all of the products to get back from shot show so the guys putting together the video haven’t had their hands on them for more than 2 days. I know the results but have been anxiously awaiting their release as well…
By this year, I mean eventually produce the top 5 voted of this year’s poll. I was under the assumption only 3 guns would eventually get made.
I get that it took a lot time to get everything back and settled. However if they’re at that point now, there’s no reason they couldn’t release a single video with all the results Monday at the latest instead of creating useless drama over 5 days. Realistically I suspect they could have it done and released tomorrow if they didn’t want to make a whole spectacle out of it.
