Danny, over on the PSA subreddit, has stated in multiple comments that the Sabre 11 would cost more than the Springfield Prodigy

Thats not a surprise. @cameron.tapler has an account here but Danny doesn’t. Us admins tend to stay in contact with PSA as best we can, mainly through Josiah and Sean.
im not surprised at all, due to the quality of parts being used. PSA is lucky that it can in fact get such great prices by buying in bulk on parts.

I don’t know if the guys from PSA are looking at this or not but if you are or someone here knows a guy there.
Please have an adjustable gas block for the PSA Sabre lancet 50, if it’s a gas gun that’s meant to be suppressed it really does need an adjustable gas block when it’s a 50 bmg. Not only that, but there also needs to be an off setting, I know I still want to shoot with the bolt closed sometimes. It’s a lot quieter at the ear. I would also prefer a 32 inch barrel or maybe even 36. 50 cal rifles should be heavy IMO. A couple more pounds isn’t that much of a difference. Main thing is an adjustable gas block with an off setting.
wlecome to the forums @Archimedes … im pretty sure that they’ll be using adjustable gas blocks and what not as theyve been using them in just about everything these days.
PSA folks do surf and wtch/read… plus us mods have meetings once a month minimally with the E commerce team and mgr… we tend to be very well connectd to each other and talk often.. so take that for what its worth.

Ok that’s good but it should definitely have an off switch where it turns into a straight pull. Maybe you can bring that up next time you meet with them?
A longer barrel is also nicer and so is a more ridged receiver, ar50a1 has a very ridged receiver and achieves sub Moa precision in great part to that.
We shall see if it gets made. Still a concept at this point. PSA has been blowing out Barretts and either they are not selling or PSA got a ton of them from a distributor (also a sign they dont sell well).
Well, there’s a big difference between 2-3k and 8-10k. Didn’t PSA they want to get it to be around 2k? But even if it was 3k it would still sell very well, especially for a gas powered 50.
Barretts are long recoil with a moving barrel, a lot less accurate than a gas powered gun with a fixed barrel. That’s why I never considered getting a Barrett even.
There is a difference…do you want $2-3k sitting in your safe or $8-10k? The vast majority of people dont have a single place to shoot a 50, especially if it already has a 20MOA rail welded to it. Personally, i dont think it will ever be mass produced. I know of 4 people with 50s for sale (multiple brands) and they cant find a buyer.
You could also look at as you’d rather have a 2-3k rifle that you can’t shoot much rather than an 8-10k one. I myself don’t shoot much, period. I think most people have some sort of range within 4 hours of them where they can shoot a 50.
Maybe they can run it in batches? With people paying for a rifle and when enough buy one they run a batch of 50-100 rifles.
Heres the problem with batches: machine changeovers and time (called retooling). If you have dedicated lines of things that sell (say AR15s) then it is easy to keep those lines chugging along. You can add barrel changes in (such as 300blk, 6.5g, 6.8spc,etc) that still work on the same ar15 upper and lower. Even if you just changed a lower slightly (ks47) you still have an upper, an lpk, etc that are common. BCG’s can be changed with a bolt change only, or use the same (5.56 vs 300blkl.
Add in a new gun although that is a completely different animal and you have new forgings (PSA has their own forge so there is a change at sister company #1). Forgings have to be machined. Changes at company #2. Employees have to redo their assembly jigs and be taught on new assembly (#3). Barrels have to be made (change #4), and then shipping receiving have changes for packaging.
It may seem like a simple concept, but when you look at the nitty gritty it becomes its own beast. Time and change = $$. If demand doesnt = production then you have what is going on with todays AK market. Aks cannot drop in price and the market is dead, taking KUSA as a company with it.
