I mentioned in the Ballester Rigaud post that it was a cheaper to manufacture alternative to the Sistema. The Ballester Rigaud and Ballester Molina are more like a Star but the Sistema is 100% Colt manufactured under license and supervision of Colt on machinery supplied by Colt. All parts are interchangeable. Its a direct copy of the 1911A1 with the arched main spring housing, relief cuts on the frame behind the trigger and longer trigger compaired to the 1911. They were manufactured in Argentina from 1945 until around 1960. For anyone that cares about such things the D.G.F.M.-(F.M. A.P.) stands for Direccion General de Fabricaciones Militares (Fabric Militar de Armas Portatiles).
