Why is that about the straightwall cartridges?
Area’s that formerly were only Shotgun slug. Basically high population areas. Straight walled cartridges have a fairly short range. 200yds max.

I know you know this, but the “similarity” if the 6.8 and the .270 ends at the bullet diameter. From case capacity to muzzle energy, they are very, very different rounds, in no way comparable and designed for completely different purposes. I mention this only for the newbie questioner.
Yes, but when introducing new calibers to folks the #1 question I have heard is “what’s it similar to?” That question applies to pretty much any round. From 223/556 and up.
