The global war on terror was not my war. As a vet of long ago I want to let ALL my brother and sister vets of that war know that we thank you for your service. What is going on over there IS NOT YOUR FAULT.
This is not the thread to get into the politics of what is happening overseas now, we all know what got us here. It is to offer support to those that sacrificed in many ways.
Also, if you are struggling with everything going on, please seek help. I cannot stand to hear about the number of vets that take a permanent solution to their problem go up from the 22 a day that do this now.
Talk to friends, family or whomever you need to keep it together. Hell, even DM me and I will do what I can.
Right now, we all need to be there to help our vets and service member that are in need.
It is a bitter sweet pill to swallow. My time was in Iraq not Afghanistan. It is all linked together though. It really upsets me to know of all the lifes lost and all of the permanently disabled vets that served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The situation in Afghanistan really reminds me of Vietnam in so many ways. To know that so many gave it all and others paid a heavy price to only make things worse now than they were to begin with. There are many things that upset me about what has happened in Afghanistan. The betrayal to our vets and our American citizens still in Afghanistan that is simply unforgivable to me. To really say what I think of Biden would most probably get me banned on this forum…
Just remember guys, there are those of us who are civilians that thank you for the service you gave and thank you for keeping us all safe for the last 2 decades and before. It was not in vain. We were kept safe from terror attacks for 2 decades since 9-11. Thank you.
But as you know well, sometimes we take several steps back for each step forward. The world of tomorrow will be paying the price for what they are doing now.
On a very serious note here we need to protect the 2nd Amendment more than ever before. If we don’t have multiple terrorists attacks here in America in the future I will be totally amazed. Also if you look at Europe after they took in a lot of Afghani refugees the crime rate skyrocketed. Sexual assaults on women became a pandemic problem. Afghan males don’t respect women and they went crazy in Europe. Owning an AR or AK isn’t crazy. It is a common sense thing to do. Why anyone would not prepare to protect their family or themselves is insanity to me. This isn’t some conspiracy theory but common sense based on events that have already happened and continue to happen.
IMO-That is the culture they come from. Most are decent humans. Some are savages and can’t keep it together in a civilized society. You are seeing people in real time who would have existed in the 7th century. They don’t even understand the concept of a toilet.
Those are excellent resources. I would like to throw in a few from the VA that would be of help.
