Bump for folks to email Vance
Would it be uncouth to say “OVERTURN ALL STATE LEVEL BANS” and nothing else?
Too big to Rig, we’ve failed ourselves in every mid-term since 2018.
That’s because Republicrats aren’t real opposition, they’re Controlled Opposition–junior coalition partners in the Uniparty Kabuki Show.
Look up John Thune’s Wiki page. Who’s picture do you see highlighted in his Personal Life section? Cheney. 'nuff said.
Update with Jamin’s message.
I still think they should have responded with “Fine, NFA repealed entirely. No more NFA taxes and everything formerly covered gets Pitman-Robertson on a 4473. MACHINEGUNS ARE BACK ON THE MENU BOYS!”
The problem is they think they will retain our vote anyway so don’t care about 2A enthusiasts. As someone who votes anytime the polls or open maybe I will just stay home and drink some good wine in 2026 2028 when they are asking to “get out to vote we are going to get this important stuff done!”
Sounds like our rallying cry needs to be “Make Politicians AFRAID Again”…
Remember when the threat of NRA declaring something a Scored Vote made Congressvermin brownload their skivies?
So with it passing, the next step is the lawsuit if I read correctly?
Yes
Unless the House cram 'em back in and tell Lady MacBeth to grab her ankles…
Didn’t the senate put them back in with different language? Pointing out the tax part only?
I know this sounds odd, but I think the $0 tax is better than full removal. It’s a short term loss, sure, but if there is no tax, there is no penalty for not paying said tax. Sonzinsky v. United States, (1937) got into this specifically with the excise taxes and firearms. The opinion reads in part, “As it is not attended by an offensive regulation, and since it operates as a tax, it is within the national taxing power.” But, a $0 tax is no longer a tax. In the Obamacare case, NFIB v. Sebelius the fact that the penalty/tax for noncompliance went to $0 meant the penalty/tax was no longer a threat and the case was thrown out.
All this is super squishy and requires the court to do their jobs, but once the tax is gone some other source of power has to be found for the law. Should be interesting to watch.
Problem is you still get ATF up in your grill once a year.
If PSA can get cans deregulated to “To Your Door” and Jamin will ship to WA, he’s got my first buy. And consider I’m from a crowd that has had trouble letting go of PSA’s teething difficulties in the early years…
I believe some states such as Washington have the law that is legal if NFA, so I think if they were removed from NFA completely they would become illegal. But as always there are so many misleading or just weird information about what is going on.
State laws will surely continue to be a grab-bag of weird, contradictory, confusing nonsense, no matter what happens. ![]()
If they make it a $0 tax do you still need to get a tax stamp? Sounds like you would have to otherwise you wouldn’t need it.
