excellent abou tthe email. sounds like they had worked on it and worked on it and been updating it but never sending the updates to you until the final update was done and it was ready to send to you. could be a hickkup in the system maybe, or just a customer service repair guy with way too much on his plate, which in my opinion i would think that to be more the case than anything else. either way its great that matt was able to help, and even greater that they sent this information to you today, and its coming home. so hopefully when you get it back, everything will be perfect.
Well she finally made it back home. Pretty sure they just grabbed a complete new assembled upper. The charge handle is different, the gas block is different. The bcg looks brand new. Not even mad. They say the newer version is better anyways.
Got it laid up to its sibling that I bought while waiting. Both 300BO. Going to hit the range tomorrow and break both of the barrels in and give a final stamp of approval. Now hopefully my suppressor stamp comes back soon and the real fun can start
Looks like they replaced some parts with newer versions.
The gas block knob definitely looks different. Is it just a cosmetic difference or is it functionally different that the original?
It’s completely different and has 6 positions instead of 4. There’s also a second detent that prevents the adjuster from turning all the way out. I don’t have paperwork on the new function of the current gas block, so one of those positions could be a maintenance position to get the new detent out to remove and clean the knob. The charge handle is also different and features a Jakl logo. The previous block was just a straight tab, with a a hole, that a round can easily get into and make turning it easier. This one is easier to grip, but not easier to turn. I kind of liked the design of the first one.
yeah theyve been replacing the gas blocks on the ones that come in with the new gas block. i cant remember if its 6 position or 8… sounds like 6. the charging handle being big an knurled is nice. odd story… i got my 5.56 jakl like back in november… it came with that nice knurled charging handle with the jakl head etcheed /engraved on it. i got my 300blk jakl in like feb and it came with the original style charging handle, but with the new gas block… so go figure. lol. either charging handle works, the knurled one is just bigger and while easier to grip, they both do get the job done so no worries there.
i absolutely LOVE myt JAKLs though… great running rigs without a doubt.
Honestly, even worth the knob falling off, my Jakl ran great. I really do love the Jakl. I can’t wait to get my tax stamp and do some night time hog hunting. There’s a group of us that have night gear and suppressors and just lay out some running hogs out of the back of a truck. It’s a blast.
I’ve been using an ar10, but it’s a little harder to manage in the back of a truck.
What state Josh?
South Carolina.
Most of its is on a portion of private property since you can only hunt during daytime hours on public land.
