hahah yeah you gotta watch out.. especially those young ak’s that are left unsupervised. they’ll start chewing on shoes when they miss you if they arent trained early on! hehee..mine are all a bit older now, and the adolescent is the akP and he’s been broke of that thankfully.. sides he cant get to the shoes from the safe thankfully.. so hes a good boy now.

yeah. its a great platform. i love mine. its like just right to me, but yet again, its also another reason why im so excited for the Krink in 7.62x39.. which is the only caliber i’ve ever been interested in the krink in. we’ll see maybe i’ll grab a krink in that caliber and see how it compares to my akp.
HA, HA…the culprit has been found. And it had nothing to do with ammo or ‘improperly heat-treated parts’ or rivets, or…whatever…
Went to the range today. Last night, I yanked my fire control group and replaced it with the PSA bog-standard NiB AK trigger.
Went through five 30-round magazines with no stoppages. No FTFs, the firing pin functioned perfectly. My working theory is that the geometry of the hammer or the angle of impact was just wrong. There is no more mushrooming on the end of the firing pin, the rifle worked exactly as the designers intended. I will miss that 2-stage FIME Group trigger, though.
I’m still thinking about swapping it for the WBP Jack in 5.56, but at least it works now.

If you get a hankering for a better trigger the alg ones are fantastic. I haven’t tried their new 2 stage yet though.

I don’t mean this as an insult in any way, but in the future, if we’re dealing with weapons with aftermarket parts that could potentially be tied to the issue can we please outline it in the original post? Saves headaches.

so glad we figured it out.. does psa have a. 2 stage out yet for the AK? I second the ALG triggers for AK’s very good triggers love how they feel and they do work well.
Not that I’m aware of. The enhanced NiB model isn’t bad, it’s just a little mushy compared to the FIME Group trigger, the break is cleaner and more consistent.

Yeah I didnt think so.. ive not been looking to upgrade my aks so thats why i asked cause i figured you’d know more than i would being you’re active in that game.. I bet PSA is looking to make one though or probably has one in development. Thats good to know bout the trigger model… not too bad i guess overall for just a NiB model.

Of course it was sarcastic. When you run around a forum spamming that all AK’s are bad but show 0 evidence you are going to get a sarcastic response. He had posted in 2 different sections of the forum based on “what he saw” on the internet. So literally 1 example of thousands of guns and he didn’t include anything such as a link to that one.
