I love those caves. However, I’m not a fan of scorpions and rattlesnakes, so I’d be afraid to explore any of them

RE-GAMECOCK- The little washes and waddies can turn into small rivers when it rains, we got another 2/10ths last night, more expected tonight. Puddles and pools can last quite awhile in the winter time.
Some asked about the snakes hanging out in the holes in the rock, was a vid some ten years or so ago of a huge ball of rattlers in one of the holes that a mountain biker spotted, see if I can track it down. Not a pretty scene! I Don’t hike in this area much after March.

oh cool i had no idea… and im not a fan of rattlers scorpions or spiders, so i wouldnt like that stuff too much at all.

These were hikes over a few years. Last one was a hike out on new years day for breakfast in the woods.

Im in Eastern Arizona. The petroglyphs are abbundant in certain areas out here. We also have lots of old Native American sites with Anasazi pottery (pot shards) dating back 700 years.

Beautiful and if l may…moving pics you have shared. Points, tools, artifacts in my area. To find them is a moving experience. Almost spiritual. But for our area no petroglyphs that l know of. TN/KY line. My finds are usually broken

those arrowheads are amazing. i wish i would have found some of those before. that would be quite moving knowing the history you’re holding in your hands. thanks for sharing that photo of them.The river photos are beautiful too, i really dig that type of a archeological hunt type excursion. too cool.

Well said…the history. Where we hunt ( my eldest son, myself and two others) we believe we have found a honey hole of flint! 200 feet up the bluff of the river, it’s everywhere near a grain field.

are those caves in the last photo? have you explored them if so?
I’ve heard that around here folks go looking in the river that separates Columbia SC from West Columbia, and are sometimes able to find musketball and cannon ball in the shores along with other civil war type objects. never cool arrow heads like that too though… either way, awesome photos thanks for sharing!
