Hopefully it rains enough to go use the woods as a range tool or camping
Send some to NW AZ. Had a little soaker the other night but the ground swallowed it up fast
as much rain as we’ve had in SC i’d think we’d be getting them too. but alas, that is not the case.
are the monsoons really bad out there? I picture mass flooding and rain coming down so fast and hard its almost comical.
Yeah it can’t just rain, we get the 90mph winds first with the huge cloud of dust, followed by the driving rain storm that last from 10 min. to 10 hrs has all the dry washes and waddies rolling like the rapids.
wow… i dont think i could even imagine a strom lasting that long of rain… thats incredible.
Intensity of some of the storms we’ve seen in the 20+years we have lived here is unreal. Lightning shows rival those I grew up with in Colo.
We could use some of that action right now, water level of lake Mead is pretty disturbing.
Rain will come whenever I do one of 2 things:
- Wash my car
- Book range time
Every. Single. Time.
On a scale of 1-10 I’d have to rate this years monsoon in NW AZ. a solid 8
We’ve had some rain dumps these past three weeks
9.5 floods impact streets
Was stationed in Phoenix in the mid-90’s. The violence of at least a couple storms during monsoon season while I was there is vividly memorable -not in a good way. That wall of dust rolling across the desert floor and blacking out the sun is no joke! ![]()
The only other place I’ve experienced this exact kind of weather event was in Juarez Mexico, but that’s a story for another time.
Yep its raining in az again
@cncgobrrt
Buddy near Topock, stranded 2 miles from home for about 2 hours now. 2 roads off the hill he is on are over a foot deep flash flood.
He texted he got, 1" hail and tornado warning on local radio.
That’s near Pahrump
East of Needles, CA but, in Arizona.

Edit to add: train derailment at mile 9 Havasu on I-40. Train is carrying hazerdous material.
Flooding preventing agencies from responding.
Well, of COURSE it is…
Yep rained for almost 2 days
