2022 Running/Walking ongoing thread

I’m in a chair, and also use a walker some. I’m wondering if I can walk one mile, with walker, and without being bedridden for weeks afterwards.

Start small and slowly add more only as you’re able to!
Eat healthy and drink plenty of water.
Forgot to add: Let us know how you’re progressing over the weeks. Sometimes a little accountability helps with motivation

That always gave me the most trouble trying to get back in shape. I’d try and take on too much and get burned out a week or two in. For me anyways it has helped to do enough to see just enough tangible results after 2-4 weeks and then I’m motivated to do another set or X more reps or exercises or however much more time or distance on cardio the next week and the next week . . .

Forgot to post for Monday: 5 mile recovery, evening weights.
Tuesday: evening weights
Today: 6 mile recovery run

Started this week and starting small for me…
1.25 / 2.50

So far so good this week. Added an extra set of bicep curls to my routine Tuesday/Thursday, a whole nother 4 sets of dumbbell bench today, and a few seconds on some ab exercises as well as 5 more reps each set on the ab wheel.

Now if I could just cut back even more on the evening time adult beverages (not holding my breath, already at minimum capacity :joy:).

I’m in. Been biking at least 4 times a week.
7.5m/30mins/200cal (whichever comes last)

I’m also weightlifting and doing other cardio to fill in the rest of the hour or so.

I’ll set a goal of being able to run 2 miles non-stop by the end of the year. I have never been able to do that, not even as a kid.

Week 1
3 cross country walks 3 miles ea.
3 weight training sessions

1/7 4/27.25
1/9 3.25/30.5

Last week:
1/3: 5 miles, weights at night
1/4: recovery, weights at night
1/5: 6 miles, weights at night
1/7: recovery, weights at night
1/8: 5 miles

Will be increasing my mileage by 2 miles this week (+10%, round up every week).

Feeling tired today. I pulled a muscle in my back on Saturday and its still sore. Didn’t sleep well last night. Hopefully better tonight.

I’m 2 weeks into 40. I miss 25. I acknowledge the wisdom of spending more time on my health and fitness. I’m going to lurk in this topic for ideas and inspiration in case I get home one day not already exhausted. Kudos to all of you with superior self-motivation.

I can finally contribute to this one! I had a bunch of personal issues to take care of last week, and to clear my head, I drove up to Table Rock just outside of Greenville. 7.5 miles round trip in just about 4 hours including stopping to take pictures. I haven’t been able to really go on a good hike in a few years, and that one kicked my butt, but I’m glad I was able to go.

That is a fantastic hike. I haven’t done it in a couple of years but plan to soon.
