Squeezing Range from a Red Dot

I’d definitely suggest going with a magnifier for distances past 200yd or so. Dropping the brightness seems to help with the dot size being magnified too, but obviously that only works up to a point.

I love this platform for home defense. Using a carbine in a defense situation is a great choice. Apparently at short distances, a 55-grain FMJ round will yaw or tumble when it impacts at close range. You definitely have to worry about penetration into the next room but this ballistic characteristic may rival using a 9mm hollow point round in a home. Jts m12 ak shotgun

I’ve had a JTS ak shotty since Dec 2020 and it runs great. Very reliable so far and so much fun. Like mentioned, higher velocity shells (1200+) is recommended. I am sure I am past my break-in period, so I need to test shells less than 1200 fps. This thread has reminded me to buy more magazines. Edit: rifled slugs also shoot well I recommend the JTS ak12!

BBQ...a southern tradition!
