5.7 magazine tight only getting 20 rou ds in

I juat got my rock last week. Loaded up 1st magazine and first 17 went right in and 18, 19 and 20 wear harder to put in and that was all I could get in. I emptied them a couple of times and reloaded them and same thing 20 rounds. Anyone else have this problem and did they get easier in time. I’m ok loading 20 but I paid for the ability to load 20.
Question 2. Any buy the 7 round extension and spring sold for the ro k and is it worth the price?
Thanks

I never had a problem. Like most, if not all the other people here I have loaded 24 rounds instead of 23 in all my Rock mags

Several have ran the 7 rnd extension with no issues. I still haven’t got one myself thou.

@5.7x28mm4u do you have any insight as to why he cant load the mag fully?

Almost all new magazines are hard to load to full capacity. Yes it will get easier as the break in some

I digress don’t have a 5.7

I have unloaded and reloaded a few and it’s getting easier. Might have to get a speed loader, but I’m disabled and don’t have a lot of extra money to buy one.

These hi-volume clips all run smoother less
than capacity…big pressure on the slide causes
problems.

I would give it some time to break in before bothering with a speed loader, haven’t had much trouble with mine personally.

You might want to disassemble the magazine and check if there are any burs or knicks on the inside of the magazine, the follower, or the spring. I doubt there is, but it couldn’t hurt.

The magazine extension is questionable. It works flawlessly if installed correctly. But with affordable ammo being hard to get right now, it’s unlikely to even load the 30 round magazine fully. Once ammo prices drop and become more available, I’d definitely pick it up.

Here’s one that won’t break the bank:

While you have it apart you may want to spray down the inside of the magazine (messy), the whole spring and follower with moly-lube or graphite dry lubricant.

Take apart the magazine to see if you have two followers in it. I’ve had that happen to me before

Thanks for all the great advice everyone.

Wow! I didn’t realize that was a problem. That’s pretty wild.

24 on a 23 here.

Quick question: are you loading it like a typical 9mm singlefeed double stack, (push down, slide cartridge in) or like a AR doublefeed double stack (pop cartridge in alternately under one feedlip then the other, sideways)?

Definitely run 24 in all 8 mags I use,
They are actually pretty easy to load.
Loaded my first box of AAC 5.7 last night, used 1 box and loaded 2 mags with 2 left over rounds

I don’t have a double stack 9mm, but I loaded all six of mine like my ar 15.

I asked, because I seem to recall someone else in here that was loading it like a singlefeed - and was having trouble getting a full magazine as well.

Anyway - as someone else noted: they’re easy enough to disassemble. I would start looking there.

I might of forgot to say that I have arthritis and my muscles in my hands have atrophyed from a pinched nerve in my neck.

Then that mag loader mentioned earlier would likely be helpful.

Ah. I understand. Those last couple rounds ARE a bit of a Wooly Beluga to get in there on a new mag.

I just got my Rock yesterday. Loaded up the magazines today. First one was a bear but I got 23 rounds in it. 2nd one I could only manage 20. I also have arthritis in my hands something fierce. I figure they’ll sit for a few days and I’ll unload and reload them and see if I can mange to get in 23.
