I have 5 magazines for my 5.7 Rock. On one of them , 17 rounds load fine but rounds 18 - 23 do not sit tight against the feed lips. When fully loaded the top round has about .060-.070 gap at the front of the feed lips. Any ideas ?
Pics would help.
I only have a flip phone to take pictures so, I would have to send them to a phone#
Have you tried leaving them loaded for a few days?
I left the mag loaded for about 2 weeks - no change.
Could the follower have a bur or plastic bit on it or around it, causing it bind towards the bottom?
Have you disassembled the mag yet?
I have tried it with the follower and spring from another mag - no change
I sprayed both the followers and and springs of all mine with 2 light coats of Blaster Graphite Dry Lubricant and have had no issues with any of them. Also inspect for what @SuperPredator said.
Might be pinched?
I am going to mark it for range use only.
Yeah I mean if you switched followers and all the other internals and it’s still behaving the same way than it sounds like it’s a problem with the magazine body itself.
I think the poster above is probably on to something suggesting that it’s pinching.
Magazies carry the same Full Lifetime Warranty as the guns do.
I checked the mag body with calipers. It measures the same from bottom to top. I suspect that the feed lips are slightly out of spec. When fully loaded, it will misfeed in the first 3 or 4 rounds. I guess I will send it back for replacement.
I put in a claim to PSA about this magazine. However the cost and time required will be more than the cost of a new magazine. I will have to wait and see what happens.
I am not saying PSA will do this.
But sometimes with low-cost items companies will just ship you a replacement and tell you to throw the old one in the trash or just keep it. Because it’s also not worth it for them as much as it’s not worth it for you.
I’m sure PSA will spend more money in man hours than the profit margin on that magazine. But they will do it the way they want to. It’s just a thought
PSA is sending a replacement as you predicted. Everything so far with my 5.7 Rock has been great with the exception of this magazine. The customer service is outstanding and good to see on such a reasonably priced product.
Glad to hear that!
I received a replacement mag and it works fine. Great customer service !
