I have noticed they have put up a new listing for the 77gr otm it is listed as AAC556OTM1b-20. The original is AAC556OTM1-20. The b listing is rated at 2550 fps the original said 2700. What is the deal with this why would they lower the speed? They cost the same.
I just thought it was weird. I have a bunch of the original 2700 fps stuff. So I was just wondering why they would change it and if it is going to be a replacement or just another option?
The reviews with chronograph pictures show it as an underpowered offering, which is a shame.
World powder shortage if i had to guess. Several big ammo makers are doing it.
He says that was out of a 14.5 if I recall. So if so that would be right on.
If that is the case that really sucks. I was hoping there was some ballistic reason they were giving more options. Not the fact they just need to use less powder.
Thats just a guess, but given we are in a powder shortage and several companies are doing it, it makes sense to me.
I’d be willing to bet, its not that PSA is using less powder, but… a different powder and that takes a different charge weight.
That powder used may not be as “optimum” ( velocity wise ) as the previous used propellant.
And yes we are in a powder shortage… some commercial grade propellants ( over the counter ) haven’t been available for years .
Any one see this? Maybe this is why they changed the charge. Do you think there is any truth to this video?
I honestly haven’t seen any of these issues personally. I would really like to hear if anyone else has.
Is Otter Creek really saying not to use aac?
Youtuber looking for clicks. Huge thread on arfcom about how that is the best AAC ammo on the market. Remember youtube videos are out there for a sole purpose: clicks. Clicks= $$.
It was obviously Sig’s attempt to deflect some heat away from their internet dumpster fire. ![]()
