77gr AAC OTM

So… the current advertised 77gr OTM ( $10.99 / 20rds ) is marked on the box…. 2700FPS

Not the previous 2550FPS.

Does this mean… PSA / AAC has “reintroduced” the 2700FPS load ?

Or is it a packaging mistake ? The ammo description also states 2700FPS.

If that is what they chrono’ed it at then that is the load. You would need to replicate their exact shooting platform to get their exact specs, just like any other ammo. The change was due to global shortages in powder and ammo parts.

Are these running real Sierra Matchkings, and has anyone done a side-by-side comparing the AAC’s to Black Hills and/or IMI from the same bore?

Travis Pike’s review on Ammoland was just sloppy on test protocol.

Here is what we know of the AAC bullet offerings:

The ranges they have would likely provide enough brass for the reman rounds.

I just came to check and see if someone had discussed this.

My last order (from Aug 2025) was the B-SKU (2550s) and the 2700s were still showing as not available or giving the 404 error (depending on when you would check).

I went back yesterday to look at some other stuff and noticed the original SKU (2700) was now back up and the 2550s were now showing a 404 error.

Curiously, my last batch of B-SKU 2550s from August were chrono’ing at the same speed as my older 2700s:

  • 2,657fps on my 16" RARR bolt-action
  • 2,514fps on my DD-barreled 12.5" upper
  • 2,701fps on my DD S2W-barreled 18” upper
  • 2,779fps on my 20" Criterion-barreled upper

Again this is right on par with the chrono speeds of the OG 2700fps SKU. So I’m guessing that I got a late batch of the 2550s that were actually the redone 2700s. Ended up tossing another case of the 2700s into my basket to add to the ammo pile along with the numerous cases 75gr SBBTs I’ve got in the dragon hoard.

Powder is finally catching up to earlier shortages.

Only for it to vanish (due to pricing relating to ‘world events’…) and halt all production for now. Sad. I was getting to like this AAC loading.

I look forward to seeing them reopen on the far side, however.

Good thing I have several cases of 75gr SBBTs in my shop to carry me though.

Sounds like they are going to start back up as mostly closed loop with their own powder. Too many wars and trade battles to depend on others.

They were countermanding their mission statement if they stayed open. I am so looking forward to when they re-launch. I have a sneaking suspicion they’re gonna kick the door open when they do.
