Aac 77gr otm listings

The version I watched ( there are 2 similar videos from the same guy ) … really doesn’t say when the issues were happening.
When the 77gr OTM first came out , it had a high velocity that did not play well with every style of chamber cuts used by every manufacturer.
( .223 / .223 Wylde etc )
Those first batches were hot and fast… so that created issues. FWIW, I had one blown primer from the original fast stuff… out of 2K worth fired.
AAC lowered the charge weight on the next batches and most all the issues went away.
Honestly, many 5.56 ammo producers , over the years , have had the same issues.

5.56 IMI ammo, has had batches plenty hot, with recorded popped primers… as well as slow batches over the years.
5.56 Winc. ammo has as well..
Federal ..as well.
Hornady …as well
I am not making excuses for AAC, but everyone should understand AAC is not alone with popped or blown primers.

Given the volume of ammo , major manufacturers make… everyone is bound to have issues.
Remember the Hornady Frontier issues not long ago ?
Remember Molons report about Berger 77gr ?

As mentioned in the ARF thread… I also believe his data shows some ( a lot ? ) of the first batches, that were so hot.
I would have loved to see “dates” of all these “issues” he is quoting.

I don’t doubt issues happened… but with out context as to when , what or why / how they happened is video seems like a click grab.

Anyway, … yes PSA / AAC had issues with the first 5.56 batches… at least over a year ago, and I imagine God only knows how many thousands of rounds have been produced since then …I still have 1K+ of that original stuff.
However… I have still bought plenty more of the AAC 5.56 ( and .308, 6.5CM, 6.5 Grendel, .40 SW, and 9MM ) , and will continue to do so.

While I wish the current load was still 2700ish fps… I am not going to be terribly upset over the loss of some velocity… provided the accuracy is still there.

FWIW… I just bought a bit of 5.56 70gr TSX, and 5.56 75gr Horn. because it was on sale at a great price.
If I was truly concerned about that guys video, I would not have bought any more AAC… but I am not.

I have and will continue to buy AAC 5.56 ( and all calibers I use ) … I have bought it since they started making it… and will continue buying it.
